Two men at a friend’s funeral; one asked the other, “What did he leave?” “Everything.” Maybe not. He took his relationships, his spirit, the thoughts and intents of his heart, his knowledge and intelligence, his covenants, and the Lord’s revelations to his soul, his accountability, his agency, his regrets. Perhaps it would be meaningful to list what we will take with us. What and who we will return to and with. Whether any of it would matter without the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Thank you for the thoughtful presentation. Happy Easter.
I never thought about the fact that the Resurrection is actually a priesthood ordinance. ~~~ The story about the estate sale and the little 5 year-old was GREAT!
Brigham Young, "It is supposed by this people that we have all the ordinances in our possession for life and salvation, and exaltation, and that we are administering in these ordinances. This is not the case. We are in possession of all the ordinances that can be administered in the flesh; but there are other ordinances and administrations that must be administered beyond this world. I know you would ask what they are. I will mention one. We have not, neither can we receive here, the ordinance and the keys of the resurrection" (Discourses of Brigham Young, selected and arranged by John A. Widtsoe, p.399). Pres. Dallin H. Oaks also taught, "The priesthood is the power by which we will be resurrected and proceed to eternal life…At general conference many years ago, President Spencer W. Kimball reminded us that there are other priesthood keys that have not been given to man on the earth, including the keys of creation and resurrection” (General Conf., Apr 2014). Happy Easter!
AMEN! Thankyou for reminding us of HIS glory and what the scriptures mean! Also your time and knowledge of sharing thoughts n feelings! Happy Resurrection Day!!🙏🏻❤️😇💐
I had never heard the connection between Helaman and 3 Nephi before--I must have been serving the nursery when that lesson was given! Wonderful insight!
The resurrection being a Priesthood ordinance is a new concept for me. Thank you for including it in this lesson. I also appreciate the references I read in your comment reply. This is the best Easter lesson I have heard all week! I’ve learned a lot. Thank you for giving of your time to teach us.
Thank you so much dear brethren. Is there a book about the Savior's ministry to the Spirit world that you know of? I would love to read more about it. Wishing you a wonderful Easter. Greetings from Slovenia.😀
Great question. I don't know of any such books. In fact, we know very little, beyond what we've been told in scriptures, about Jesus' visit to the spirit world. So any book on the topic would be primarily filled with guesswork. If there were that much trustworthy information available, I'd be eager to learn it, too!
I loved this week's lesson (I listen every week). I'm trying to find the source for Elder Holland's quote on the resurrection as a symbol for all perfection that is shared at about the 20 minute mark and can't. Can you let me know where to find it? Please and thank you.
I don't think the source is readily available online. However, it came from a Leadership Enrichment Series on 11/9/2011. Sorry, I wish I had handy a shareable link.
@@brothermikeharris5547 That's great, it's good enough for me to share with others and have more than "Elder Holland said," and feel like I'm not misquoting :-) I appreciate the info and all that you share in your videos. So glad Taylor "introduced" you to us all!
