That is reflected in our culture. Britain is undeniably 100% Northern European in culture, but with a Celtic twist. There's very little Latin/Southern European influence on British culture. In fact, I can't think of a single example of Latin/Southern European cultural influence. I know, you're going to say "but the Normans were French" - the Normans were not French, they were Scandanavians who lived in France. "Norman" literally means "North Man". They did speak French, but culturally they weren't French, they were Frenchified Norsemen. Also, yes, 50% of our total vocabulary is Latin in origin, but that doesn't properly reflect our language - ALL of the most commonly used words in English are Germanic. For example, "smell" is Germanic, but "odour" is Latin. "Eat" is Germanic, but "consume" is Latin. "Drink" is Germanic, but "beverage" is Latin. And so on and so on, you get the point. Basically, the English vocabulary may be 50% Latin IN TOTAL, but in reality, English is like 90% Germanic in normal, every day conversation. You have to go out of your way to "talk fancy" in order to use words of Latin origin while speaking English, which comes across as pretentious and snobby. In normal conversation, almost every word you use will be Germanic.

@@dzap4815 its not just speaking a germanic language. its a cultural thing as well. as i already said: it is no coincidence that all of those countries are in a better shape (as well as neighbor countries who are culturally close (like northern italy). maybe you instead of trying to say something against that (which was anyway irrational) seriously think about that? and: there is also a reason why for instance in asia some countries like japan, south korea etc. are in a comparable good shape.
