It’s not that they turned on each other, in reality they were all from different points in history, but they built on their respective views. Voltaire and Nietzsche were considered students of Socrates because they built on his ideas, but they had their own views and opinions and that’s why they all ended up fighting. Same basic idea why Eastern group ends up fighting as well. Have a lot of fun watching you react to these!
This one is one of my favourite erb's. It works on so many levels. On a basic level, great beats and a fun rap to listen to with enough easy bars for it to be enjoyable, if you know a bit about each philospher then it goes up a level as you see the doubles on the normal disses, but when you know a lot about each guy then it hits top shelf as even their own beliefs and ideas become apparent in their lines and the way they rap. They must have researched so much to tie this all together. And then as the final masterstroke you have KRNFX beatbox over confusius bars, which is so original in ERB.
I'm not sure if they explained much of what these philosophers were all about, but since I'm familiar with all these guys I found this quite funny. Only a handful actually knew each other, so seeing a what if? of how they would I interact was fun.

My single favorite ERB. Glad you got around to it. Everyone in this just nails it and it's hard to pick a winner. Voltaire got it for me with his B frank lines but it's close since the eastern team did better over all. You gotta do Shaka Zulu versus Caesar soon

Got to give to the Eastern Philosophers. Yeah, the Eastern are very close to each other and calm, the Western philosophers always liked their own ideas. , and shared a few ideas, but they should have put Catherine the Great in because corresponded with Voltaire and studied all of them and became great because she listened first, thought, then acted. Being in power was her thing and she was brilliant

They will usually show at the end of the battle who was played each characters when there are extra battlers/guests. You always seem to stop early. Let the videos play a bit longer and you will see the names of the rappers. Don't be so quick to stop the video.

If one is going to read nietsche's book, read the edition published in 1960, the first edition published in 1900 was filled with his sister's nationalism and antisemetism.
This is a perfect example of one of my favorite things about ERB: The battles are jao-packed with references, in-jokes, puns, etc. But they also write them in a way that the videos are approachable even without knowing a bunch about the characters.
If you're learning your history of erb, just remember, there's basically the compendium of human knowledge in a piece of plastic you carry everyday and we're wasting it watching crazy cat videos and "ow my balls"!
Philosophy is cool. It was what people used to figure out life before it became all about religion. And it's better because it doesn't assume the existence of the supernatural.

Well since I am a very objective person, Socrates, the OG, clearly won (the fact that I am Greek, has nothing to do with my decision.. OK maybe just a little because to be honest, Eastern side was better)
