This is a video I made and the last one on the Eastern Shore Of Virginia of the Eastern Shore Railroad a train running over my camera over bad old tracks in Eastville.
Excellent video capture, Alan! Kind of makes you laugh when you see an inpatient person pull into a driveway and back out so it will not have to wait for the train, only to turn the train was pulling one car, lol :o)
Wow that snow-plow could've taken your camera down so it would be facing up to the fuel tank. Lol This reminds me of the CP Rail going through Claremont. Little traffic and little maintenance. Great catch btw.
Great video. For those who have not seen this line, that poor maint. goes back years. I have travelled the road that parallels this track for miles, and the poor maint. is evident for the entire route. However, they have a former inter-urban car converted for dinner train. The food is great and the trip very enjoyable. It runs after dark so you can't see how slow you are going. It is well worth the trip to Cape Charles, VA for the food alone. Be sure to call and make sure the train is running the day you want to go. But I believe the trains runs year round.
Thank God for small cameras! Those track remind me of the CN line from Miramichi City to Bathurst in New Brunswick. The Federal government freed up $ 10.6 million to repair the 70 km/ 43 miles for the VIA Ocean Limited. Without it passenger rail service between Halifax and Montreal may have ended.
+WhiteBoyWithAnIpod Yes it is. I lived in Greenbush and Nassawadox 20 years ago and visit 2 times a year I will be back again on July 5th and 6th this summer.
