A new guest the the woodyard! A new Eastonmade 12-22 wood splitter with a box wedge! For more details on the Eastonmade 12-22 go here: www.eastonmade...
Chris if you would load a face cord square on a pallet and wrap it in shrink wrap and keep the top level so they could be doubled stacked you could get a set of forks so you could lift the pallets and place them into the truck and trailer. This method would save you a lot of time and it would let you move the pallets out of your way when you need space to receive loads from John your wood supplier.also l think not only would it be a time saver for you it would also cut out the double handling of the finished wood that you are doing your new trailer should be able to handle 3 pallets and if you want to get gutsey you could put 6 pallets by double stacking them but you would need some strong straps to hold them in place.
@@InTheWoodyard After watching many videos and you and you’re new best friend Tony, I changed my order to the Axis. But without the conveyor. 14 months in the making. Suppose to have it by late February.
Beautiful beaver hat. Hope Kenny and wife do well hopefully there a waiting list. I want Kenny to be able to keep going out west hunting and have a great excuse to go after them flat tails
Hello darlin.......lol I thought you had gone and got yourself a Conway Twitty dew. Very nice beaver hat! The log lifter will definitely save tha back.
G’morning Chris. I knew that it wasn’t yours. Box wedges are awesome, but lots of mess. Great for those that collect it. Look forward to the carnage ! GoodNightIrene
Chris nice machine and enjoy it, Harry a good guy . I live in Northern, Ontario, and also purchased a wood processing machine a little more complicated and expensive . Just finish my business plan and hope to be cutting soon .
"How do you get the wood from the pallets to the trailer?" Similarly, ten years ago I took my first all grain brewing class. The instructor said one time a lady in class asked what he does with all the beer he brews in class.... He just stared back. Dorothy in Kansas ain't the answer to your question, and dumping it down the sink ain't the answer to my question. Have a great day!
@@InTheWoodyard Thot this would be a good one to tack a comment on. That beaver hat reminded me of Jim Carrey for some reason. Overall, I thot you looked like a good comrade, Commissar! Can't believe Tony's not there to help sell the beaver hats!! After all, he was a really good salesman!!! I suspected some nefarious goings on, you're too tight to buy another one until the first one is worn out, down to rusty splinters!!!! Keep up the good work! Now, when I get accused of being overly thrifty, I just send them to this channel. Ha!! It must be a family thing. My sisters are sorta thrifty, but I have a nephew that oughta be in Guinness Book for being tight!! Yeah, he squeaks! Loud!! Airport decibels!! Will not buy oil. The best he'll do is eat a greasy breakfast!! He could give you lessons, but it would cost you!!! (So, right, never happen!) For example, he lifts weights so that he won't have to rent a forklift! He works outside all winter because it's warmer than his house! His main heat source looks like a coffee can with sawdust burning in it! He won't trim his beard because he might have to buy a pair of scissors every 20 yrs, or so! Btb, I like how you trim your beard, even if it is extravagant!! Stay safe! Beware of getting old, and squeaky!
I have a Beaver hat that I bought and wore in Alaska. Made in Bethel by the Native ladies out there. I love it! Now living in Virginia I seldom need it, but it is 20 degrees today and I need to make a trip to Lowes, so maybe I will wear it Just For Show. I can pull my flaps down, cover my ears and unless it is below zero and windy, it just gets too hot. This was 30 years ago and I paid between $75-100, so with today's inflation rate, the prices you suggested are very fair. One would be hard pressed to find one of these hats in the open market.
Did some logging in the woodyard today. Tell Kenny that I appreciate the ground workers that log for a living. IS HARD WORK! Between what the neighbors pulled out and logs waiting, so far 20 8ft logs bucked for his sawmill. Without a faller-buncher, logging is quite difficult for the average Joe! GO KENNY!
That box wedge work perfect for your customers since I have been watching your channel I split my wood smaller and customers love it also changed how I noodle the big rounds always cut them standing up now after watching you lay them down way faster Thanks
I thought you were getting a new Processor. Driftless Homestead got a nice machine. I remember though your wants vs needs. You have what you need, an upgrade would be because you want too. Thanks for sharing Chris!
I just got mine delivered on Thursday. Incredible build quality and great people from start to finish at Eastonmade. Can't say enough good about them and the machine.
@@Jim-pw3wz No, they do not remove it from the truck for you. They specify that you need a machine capable of lifting 3000 lbs. These things are deceptively heavy. My utility tractor has a 3000 lb. capacity loader, and was just barely enough to lift it from the truck. They're not joking about the capacity needed.
You know that you're into wood when a new wood-splitter can cause such excitement. That's a nice looking machine for sure. By the way, a local guy had a Dremel 8200 cordless that he had bought for a project and no longer needed. Two batteries, case and various bit all for $50.00. I ordered some Oregon bits for sharpening, so I may be leaving the filing world. That beaver hat is nice, but I don't think the weather down here would support it.
You sneaky guy! Thought you were buying new machine. It’s someone else’s machine. Ill have to contact Easton made to buy a new Ultra. I’m patient and know ill have to wait…Love you like a brother! Fun watching your shenanigans…
🥶🥶 Thanks for making me cold! It’s been in the single digits here for the last couple days and today I think it’s going to hit 40. Crazy weather! Nice machine Driftless bought. I’m sure you will run the crap out of it tomorrow 😂😂👍🏻👍🏻GNI
i cheated and went to harry's site and watched his vid at your place!!! i'm torn between the axis and a 5-11! i need the log lift because most of my wood is over 20 inches! i have to noodle to get my wood on my old splitter! you always have great vids! thanks
Hi Chris - it's Big Rodders in Ireland. It will be fascinating to learn your assessment of the bigger machine and, crucially, whether it is more productive that the Ultra, particularly when you factor in the massive difference in price and maneuverability.
Going to have to be careful Chris, that new splitter may dull your senses, loosening those very tight purse strings, and tempting you to buy one😱😱😨! Na…that’s a none starter! Andrew (Eastonmade) swapped Gord Potters splitter for him!! Beaver hat looks great, but too warm for the UK! Len (Devon 🇬🇧)
Well that's a little disappointing that you didn't get a new Eastonmade for the wood yard but I honestly couldn't think of what you would get to replace the Ultra. Oh well......Glad someone else is joining the Eastonmade family. Dave
we looked into the eastonmade products. wanted to buy but lead time was 1.5 years lol and I live in Canada haha. look like good products but we couldnt wait. bought a processer instead. cant wait to see it in action🤘
@@InTheWoodyard we got a Range Road - eco pro 300 with a live feed log table. The machine seems well constructed. we did have a few issues getting setup and running as well as a few customer service issues but we are finally getting it dialed in now. I will be making a review for the processor as soon as the snow melts.
Will be back to see the box splitter terrorize the Woodward! When you dump loads with the trailer (have yet to figure out how the wood gets in there) After initial wood falls and you pull forward. I like to tap gas in reverse and immediately hit brakes first and then pull forward. It breaks the load loose and gets slide started. Seems to keep pile tighter when pulling away. Have you tried this in the past? Have a great weekend... I ❤️ 🦫!
Chris, you are a mean man. Had me thinking you finally got a firewood processor and that I had a shot at buying your Ultra. LOL! Will have to stick with my glacier for another year.
@@InTheWoodyard, am waiting to see how the box wedge works for your tastes before I put a deposit on anything. And will be a full uear before it arrives anyway.
I have a 12-22 with 4 way and 6 way wedge. Use the 4 way almost exclusively. On bigger chunks handling resplits is much easier, raise it up or drop it down out of the way. 6 way is fast for the perfect sized chunks but they are rare. Resplits are harder to deal with 6 way can't raise high enough to get out of the way.. Wedges are too heavy for changing back and forth easily. Just more efficient to stick with 4 way. Do wish I had the box wedge for the real big stuff, that and 4 way are the best combo IMO.
Nice machine Chris you are gonna want to purchase one after this. I have all wedges for this machine and if I were to pick one. It would be the 4 way. Cheers 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
I’m no wood snob, cut it all out at the hunting camp. Whatever is dead, pine, spruce, eastern hemlock, poplar, maple, ash, white birch, yellow birch, apple, black cherry. It all burns just some longer than others and that bs you hear that softwood is bad for the chimney all crap, dry wood is dry wood.
Morning Chris, “no rest for the wicked, and “ rust never sleeps” - wasn’t that a Neil Young album? Your not really convincing us to buy a beaver hat, sounds like there almost unbearably warm, ( unless your ice-fishing)haha! Have a good one
hi up there . i watch all your videos how do you load your wood in the trailer . got to love them . 6 here in Maryland . it will be interesting how you like the 12-22 .i still like my old single split splitter . i would have a dozen locks on that and your splitter . john
Maybe there ain't no rest for the wicked, because doing things wrong means you have to always check and tweak to make sure the networks and processes aren't falling apart. Plus they have to always look over their shoulder to make sure nobody's coming back for revenge. The good can sleep like a baby!
Good Morning Chris! Question for you - when considering a log splitter what features/facts should be considered? Also is there a certain one you recommend? I'm new to the channel after my delivery the other day and have become interested. Maybe you've covered it in a video but I've watch several and haven't noticed it in the titles or the videos I've watched.
Hello Jerry! I recommend either the EASTONMADE ULTRA which is about $5000 or a EASTONMADE 12-22 which is about $10,000. It sounds like a lot but they pay for themselves fast and hold there value tremendously well! They are both fast and make a lot of wood. The 12-22 is a feature rich machine with a log lift, hydraulic adjustable wedge and auto return! Check out Eastonmades web site! I do have a bunch of videos on my channel with a few different splitters with Eastonmade splitters. Good luck!
@@InTheWoodyard reference to the Kid Rock song circa 2000... and I’m back with the beaver hat and Ben Davis slacks, 30 pack of Stroh’s, 30 pack of... Anytime someone mentions a beaver hat that’s the first thing that pops in my mind (takes me back to high school I reckon), although I suspect he was referring to men’s dress hat rather a big fluffy winter flappy hat
good thing u well inlated i be froze bye now got some snin some bone no brains and no blood in stall a big rock in your yard for me lol need a basking site lol
silly me thought you had a bad toupee. So you will be playing with Miss Canada while she will be going her hardest with a six way tomorrow. Does your wife approve of this?
