Drooling over those gonioporas! Maybe I should put mine in higher flow. They seem to be thriving under all that water movement.

It is obviously cheap because there is less of a shipping cost and the corals are growing right off their coast. Less travel means less money.

hey man! belated welcome to my hometown! i hope you had a great time. I live in Melbourne now --- if you didn't head down here, you should; if you can dive there's some awesome dives around here and you can get to see some leafy sea dragons if you're lucky!

This hurts me! My God! I'm restarting my 90 after being out of the hobby for a couple years and I'm going to try to do 100% Aussie. The cost of the Aussie is going to hit the pocketbook really hard. I can't believe the cost of these corals!! Can I move to Australia? Think the wife will go for it just to get cheap coral? lol

Hello! First of all, thank you for enlighten us with all the great info that you provide trough the channel, THANK YOU !!!!!! Talking about these beautiful clean design tanks (like the main one you show at the shop) .... Any idea how big a rimless aquarium can be to be the safest is possible? So far I have seen (only online) the Red See, ADA and ELOS lines aquariums with sizes around 150cm long. I've tried to find something more specific about how these rimless aquariums are made but there's is no much info about it online. Some people say that they use thicker glasses from 15mm up to 20mm and add some extra glass layers along the bottom as a braces to increase the stranger but this is the only thing I "know" (lets say suppose) about rimless aquariums around here (Brazil).

there is a popular place here called cartimar where every fish is sold for a buck. while clowns are bred and sold for 70 cents each. Most of fishes and corals in the US are actually imported from the Philippines. In cartimar there are literally hundreds of saltwater store which sells sharks, rays, even the rarest of the rarest fish for 1 to 4 bucks. Try reading this although sound alarming: wwf.panda.org/about_our_earth/blue_planet/news/saving_nemo/

Want to know what it’s like to deal with someone with extremely rude attitude and experience the worst customer service possible? Unfortunately, I cannot leave a zero-star rating because that’s what this shop owner/ staff deserves. Firstly, I would like to acknowledge that this is a well-presented aquarium even though I am not a professional in the field, as there is an abundance of products available and a large variety of great looking fish and coral presented in a clean environment. However as amazing as how well this shop is presented, it is also amazing at the level of insult directed at my family as customers displayed on this day. Allow me to brief to you my horrific experience. On this particular afternoon, my child asked me to buy a watching fish, knowing that this is a shop I pass almost every day, I decided that this was the place to go. Heading over there, we held high hopes for having a great time as well as professional advice on choosing a fish for my child to look after. Upon arriving my whole family, especially my child was captivated by the large amount of beautiful fish in an array of different colours. My child, started pointing out different fish which liked for us to choose. Knowing very well that fish are easily startled, so I told my child beforehand that you may point but not to touch or tap the glass as it is dangerous for the fish. Being a very obedient child, my child followed this to the tee and not once did my child make any contact with any of the tank let alone tap the glass. However, to our surprise, the male staff present (possibly the owner) started to hurl abuse, insult whilst having an extremely sarcastic attitude towards my family and my child. To me this feels like unacceptable behaviour for a staff member let alone the owner, having a judgemental and discriminative attitude. I have noted our exact conversation during this horrific interaction below: Us: Look the fishes are swimming so quickly! Staff: Yes, very quick because you tapped the glass and you scared the fish! Us: (in absolute awe as none of us had touched anything since entering the store) Us: Excuse me, how frequently do we need to change the water for the fish, sorry for asking as we have never had a fish before. Staff: (In a sarcastic tone) Well, it’s like how frequently you have a shower. You can either shower every day or never have a shower at all. Us: (Amazed by this useless information, we tried to ask again a different question) Us: What is the smallest sized tank that we can have? Staff: (Once again in a sarcastic tone) I can design a tank worth hundreds of thousands of dollars or thousands depending on what you are willing to pay (whilst giving us a patronising look) Us: Sorry, we were asking about the size (Then rudely cut off by him) Staff: It is like buying gold, you pay for gold, then you cannot expect me to give you a diamond because it’s not worth the same thing. Us: (In utter amazement at his attitude and feeling as if he just wants us to get lost, I spoke to my child) Us: (Talking to my child) Baby, you know fishes are only for you to look at because you cannot touch them, are you sure you still want it? Staff: You should go buy a cat or a dog for your child. No! actually you should buy a rabbit, a rabbit is good for touching. Us: (Completely astonished by his attitude towards us as customers) We left as soon as possible as I did not want to have any further interactions with this person nor do I want to have any confrontation with someone with zero respect or care for his customers in front of my child. However, I hope although long, that this review can assist others in picking a better aquarium to buy their fish and supplies as I do not wish for anyone to experience the treatment that my family felt today. Please avoid at all cost, do not make the same mistake as we have and experience such appalling customer service. There are plenty of aquariums in Sydney with guaranteed better customer service.

It's unfortunate that you had that experience there, when I went with my gf a few months ago the guy at the store seemed quite friendly to us and answered any questions we had about the fish and corals. May of been a different person to who you spoke to who knows..

there is no way a 4 year old can have salt water fish or coral, unless you are going to do the daily lifetime maintenance for him. and in order to do that maintenance, you have to learn what to do and invest in the equipment. you are much better off getting your kid a 10 gallon tank, sponge filter, and 2 goldfish. the shop keeper realized you never had a fish before and just didn't want to waste time trying to explain things. he should have politely sold you a guide book and told you to come back after you read and understood it, knew what you were getting yourself into, and had an good idea of what kind of saltwater tank you wanted. he doesn't want to sell fish, and rightly so, that will be killed by someone with no ability to provide the care requirements.
