I was thinking to go for one of these Sidejack baritones but your video helped me to avoid them. The nut and crappy plastic parts are not pretty attractive and a deal breaker for me, at least on the first impressions. I have the Gretsch baritone one and I have to say it's a flawless well constructed guitar in comparison. Did you ever tried the Rivolta Mondats VII baritone before? Thoughts? Thanks for the review.
I have not tried the Rivolta, will check it out. While the Sidejack will suit my purposes, I can't recommend it to another player. Had I played one first - especially THIS one - I wouldn't have bought it.
I have a ‘22 eastwood sidejack DXL LTD LMNOP… I find it to be a great sounding, great playing instrument. Agree with Indonesian quality in materials and craftsmanship but I expect inconsistency from them. Not much different than most makers, imo. However, the plastic nut. It’s strangely not even as hard as the tuner knobs. Weird decision there. I will be replacing it with bone, too. Minecame with the Les Trem ii whammy. Also weird but works great and looks cool. I’m tuning AToA. I think it’s a great guitar all around. That being said, even though I paid half the list price, I am considering getting the baritone plus and might have to pay in full. Probably installments.😂I really dig them.
@@chiba131 I also have a Danelectro baritone. It weighs about half as much, and has a slimmer, faster neck (with a metal nut!). I prefer the eastwood p90’s over the lipstick danelectros but both guitars have a wide selection of tones. They cost about the same. Tough call. I may have to keep them both.😂
No firm judgement yet ... I want to get it set up and get a good nut on it before I decide if it's a keeper or not. I'm also looking for a way to increase the break angle of the strings.
