I was working on a door of this style for my base (with a few extra mechanics) using glazed terracotta until I was rudely reminded that glazed terracotta is unique in that it can be pushed, but not pulled by pistons. 😑

@@mkplibrary No, Glazed terracotta has a special property that only allows it to be pushed. Sticky pistons, slime blocks, or honey cannot pull them.

You can close the door from inside if you put a lever on blocks directly above the pistons in the back

If you add a red stone torch behind the lever you won’t need the lever to keep it closed so when your away and take the lever so it make it looks like nothing is there. Then when you get back just flick the lever to open back up

@@jxllythecreator3803 behind the lever there should be red stone, remove it, then place the torch there so it works the opposite way. Hope this helps!

You can also use this design for a 2 by 1 door if you only do it for one side

2x1 doors are much more simple. I have a design that opens up an down so you dont have to see the pistons 🙃

Finally a working flush door in Minecraft, instead of adding the extra repeater I kept it slow and moved the lever inside, so I flick the lever in my base and speed out before it closes and go back in my side entrance.

My pistons aren't sticking to my other pistons. What do I do now? All of the red stone work -- works. But it only works to push the blocks out and leave the pistons stuck.

Doesn't function properly on my PS4 pro. The bottom pistons don't move and the top ones glitch sometimes and will leave behind the block that's supposed to be stuck to it

Great tutorial! i do have a small question, though: H ow do I make it so that I dont get locked in or out my own house, because even if I have the lever on the inside, someone else could easily pull the lever on the outside and now I'm trapped, how do I avoid this while still using this or a similar door design?

this worked. it actually made a piston 2x2 door in a cave ( cave-house) edit: I did this in survival and I kept getting messed up by creepers but I eventually did it, it took me 1 hour .-.

@@mgstrip it didn't for me at first but u have to connect the red-stone from the lever to the machine. he doesn't show it in the video so thats what im assuming what went wrong. hope this help!
