Hello how do you guys make the base head and heart notes? Just drop all ingredients one after another or do you mix those together seperattly and mix them together later?

@@heymisswestplant therapy it seemed! I haven’t tried their essential oils personally but I am planning to get some! Almost every source confirms they are quality for a fair price! The basics like peppermint and lavender are about 10-15, but more luxury ones like rose absolutely are about 35$ (that’s a 5ml-10ml botlle)

do you know how much should be used in ounces and if a fragrance oil instead of essential would be fine

@@azlewashington5132 let’s say you are making a one ounce fragrance, you would use 600 drops of essential oil, and for each ounce you add you double the amount of drops of essential oil, the difference between essential oils and fragrance oils, is that essential oils will last much longer than fragrance oils because they are more pure!

But it should be fractionated coconut oil, which has no smell. Or you can also use almond oil or joboja oil.

As a perfumer, use perfumers alcoho, with essential oils. I use face masks for a very cheap way to apply.

U can't do it without alcohol, u need alcohol to dilute the Essential oil and also alcohol makes the smell more stronger so that's why you need it

That’s happened to me too! I realized that even tho they’re both “scents”, synthetic and essential oils are structurally very different. Synthetic oils are manufactured to be more stable and longer lasting with the chemicals added to them. Certain EO evaporate very quickly which changes the scent too! That’s why I stick to making small batches of perfume with pre-made EO blends that I love. But both types of oils have their pros and cons so you just gotta use whichever works best for you and keep smelling amazing! 🙂

Essential oils are a mix of singular compounds. For example one essential oil can contain many different chemicals, while the specific chemicals they use in name brand perfumes are just that one specific molecule or chemical which is derived or created just to replicate that one specific scent.

Not all essential oils create a pleasent smell when you mix them together and let them age for about 1 week. Perfumery is an art form. I know that from experience - i create my own botanical perfume at home.

Let a professional like me explain, a fragrance is based upon many many many molecules, the fragrance oils you use are a blend of multiple common raw materials, they are not made to overlap one another, when you do overlap them, some reoccurring molecules in your added fragrance oil will make make the first fragrance oil unstable, kind of as if you had green (blue&yellow) and purple (blue&red) and you mixed the green and purple. The blues in both green and purple will overlap taking your in an unwanted direction. Hope this helps anyone.

Listen to me. If you make it like this tutorial probably you will get a skin rash. Especially if you use essential oils and not fragrance oils but even fragrance oils can be containing lots of irritants

You can also just use any near pure ethanol (e.g. everclear)

@@gavinn.4060if I remember correctly it is possible but maybe that it has a more pronounced alcoholic smell to it. Perfumers alcohol is nothing more than ethanol with some added ingredients that make it unsuitable for any use other than cosmetics. Thats why perfumers alcohol is generally cheaper than pure ethanol.

Cologne and pefume are pretty similar although the difference is in the composition of materials Perfume is 25-30% fragrance oil While cologne (Aka eau de toillet) Is 15-20% fragrance oil As on how to make cologne you basically get a carrier oil by infusing a scent such as lavender with a non-scented oil afterwards you get the rest of the fragrance oils such as seaderwood, lemongrass, vanille, And then you add witch hazel and Glycerin to increase the longetivity of the fragrance last but not least you add perfumers alcohol and diluted water Hope that helps 🤗

No for EDT is 10% fragrance to perfumers alcohol for edp it's 20% to perfumers alcohol.

So for EDT it's 10% fragrance oil - perfumers alcohol for EDT it's 20% so for 50ml EDT it's 5ml to o 45ml pa EDP 10ml to 40ml pa hope that helps
