To recap: -> Auto shop -> Respray -> Brushed steel -> Chrome -> Go to Los Santos Customs -> Respray -> Pearlescent ---> If it doens't let you ---> Go to metallic and hover in the menu for about 5 seconds then back out -> Change one thing about the car (like plates) -> Go back to respray -> Pearlescent -> Choose what you want -> Put crew color on -> Get out -> Profit!
I used to do this with Dark Steel + Chrome + Crew then Pearl because if you add the crew onto the chrome first, you can set a pearlescent without glitching at LS Customs.. it looks good in certain lighting, but at other times, it just looks like plain chrome.. Try doing a Pure Gold + Crew + Pearl, then after you've applied that, go to story mode and then back into an online session of your choosing.. This restart refreshes the paintjob and shows it's final reflection.. I enjoy the look so much, 90% of my cars have been given this paintjob combo with various crew colors.. it even still looks chrome~ish on cloudy/rainy days.. Oh, and if you set a #000000FF crew color, do the Pure Gold + Crew paint combo, you can literally change the color of your car by using pearlescents.. very similar to the matte base + pearl glitch, but with a gloss shine comparable to chrome instead of flat matte.. even though it's a Pure Gold base and no Chrome used in the paintjob, I like to call it "Black Chrome" cause that's what it looks like..
