@@monymiller4005 she is using oil, so no. She painted canvas with acrylic after using modelling paste. I use tile adhesive in a one gallon bucket for texture, it works well and is so cheap, instead of expensive modeling paste . Have fun painting and warm greetings from Canada!!
hamsablue Canvas, acrylic modelling paste (impasto) roughly daubed onto canvas with painting knife or you can use lolly stick, an old credit card or similar, cut to smaller size if wanted. Allow to dry fully (overnight). Oil paint best for this technique as it can be ‘rubbed in’, a bit like shoe polishing. Acrylic will be harder to move around since it dries fast. Using a piece of rag, take small dabs of paint and apply as she demonstrates in random areas, building up as you go. It brings out the relief of the texture. Oil paint takes up to a week or so to dry.
@@tracik1277 Thank you, but an old creditcard or stick wouldn't give the same result as a small palett knife. You Will not get the random structure but more straight lines/figures. Try it yourself😃
Somia Essaid True, but I wrote that so it’s an idea for an alternative if you don’t have a palette knife. I use a larger piece of shaped plastic if I want to texturise an area.
Can people stop labeling speedpaints or painting process vids as "how to" 's ? Like, seriously. If you're not gonna explain how then don't call it a how-to, coz they're gonna make you figure it out yourself. Same thing with people labeling speedpaints as "tutorials" Cool painting thou
It’s basically creating an uneven random surface using filler of some sort. Let it dry and you then use a dry brush approach. The shapes of the filler will create a sculptural style and stops for the dry paint. You then dab on and use the cloth to mix gradations of colour. Legitimately anyone can do it. But the difference of this and a real expressionist painting is night and day. You get what you pay for. You also can’t take shortcuts to being an artist and having the touch. This is a craft project, it is not art. I don’t say this in a way of malice, it is simply a fact. However it may still be a doorway into real art for many so who am I to denigrate it.
The picture I like very well but why didn't you make it and instructual by talking about it and not just do it and play music. I first thought you were using white acrylic paint for your texture but then read below the you used moulding paste. What colors did you use. Was it just black and blue? The outcome is lovely but I would have like you to talk about it. I am going to try this but I will be doing it blind as there are no instruction by you. I would love to follow you but it is not worth it having to guess what you are doing. I am sorry but I would have loved to follow you but I cannot.
Marina, thank you so much for this inspirational video so satisfying to watch. Could I ask can the same technique be used with acrylic paint? Many Thanks, Regards, Rahul.
I don't know what the artist used particularly but many people use old tshirts cut up into rags. They are usually the most lint free and.. well.. free lol..
I also made a painting for doctors to Thanks them and that painting got selected by the Government of HARYANA. And i told my whole striy about the painting on my channel.
A better description of what you are doing would be nice. Did you let the white dry first or just add black or blue to a rag? Beautiful but not enough information.
One question, where is the tutorial? It’s not a ‘how to’. It’s a ‘watch me paint’. There are no instructions. You can’t label it as a ‘how to’ video if you aren’t showing us how to do it.
Ya it's strange to title it a how to when it clearly isn't, and she aren't telling you what she uses unless you asked. Even the description just listed oil paints, canvas... well no shit... what brand tho?
Loved the drawing! Your illustration most definitely is like Oli Mueller! His drawings is similar to Aaron Blaise mixed with a bit of Emmy Kalia. You should most definitely check his RU-vid out and give the painter a like! 👉 #OliMuellerOnlineArt
Lovely work. Please would you explain what kind of cloth/wipe you use to spread the dark paint after the modelling paste has dried? I gives a lovely soft effect.
I just used your video as a guide. I used metallic acrylic and regular acrylic paints thinned with water and used lighter blues. I also used gel medium and a microfiber towel. I added silver leaf and it turned out amazing! Thanks! I really want to find that darker blue and go back in a bit but afraid I'll ruin it. I'll just put a dark blue frame on instead. Thanks!
From watching this a few times - it's tissue - she's putting it in water from time to time - combining blue with black. Other times directly putting it in the paint but the times you do not see her put her tissue in the paint - she's putting it in water! Just a guess.
The first thing you did to the canvas is as a white paint or paste? The rest was paint? Do you wait for each color/technique to dry before adding the next color?
You share the tutorial so we can see your work, but the way you did it is a secret so that someone else doesn't copy it. I don't like that, it's very bad
@@KT-su3qk So why do you upload them to the tutorial? There are other ways to sell your paintings. The tutorials are to show how a job is done. What you do is a selfish person. Little hand down!
@@andyanful What?! You need to reread your comment. But to answer the only thing I understood.....a lot of artists post videos and "tutorials" to show their process and to basically advertise themselves and their work.
@@KT-su3qk then do NOT call it a tutorial or how-to, which exact purpose is to teach people how to do it aswell. If igt ain't one, don't call it one coz it's misleading.
WOW!!!! I don't know how to explain it but I don't think I've ever felt emotional over a piece of art til I watched this being created. Call me crazy but I see a figure in the middle of the painting with a blind fold on reaching out for help. r Regardless of how many times you went over the figure with paint it didn't not go away. I couldn't stop watching. The more you added the dark colors, the more it became alive. It was creepy but heart wrenching. Idk lol maybe I just need sleep. Regardless thank you for sharing and allowing me to experience this 🖤
