Fished about 1/2 mile up the river from that spot in early Nov. Still a lot of color on the trees and a lovely afternoon. Caught two nice ones, missed at least one. I like that area because the access is SO EASY by car, and mostly I don't see too many folks fishing it (more people fish the lower D for lots of big fish). Glad you had some success! Sorry about the boot. I hope that's "covered" as I know those aren't cheap boots!
Thank you Rosie - and thank you for always finding the time to watch my fishing adventures and for supporting the channel. I do appreciate that! We will see if Korkers will stand behind their inserts - fingers crossed! Cheers!
Awesome place! I love going to fish a new location, pure excitement. Once you’re there and leave, it’ll never be new to you again, although every time you fish anyplace, even familiar areas, it’s going to be different in its own way..everything changes. Hopefully Korkers will cover the defect..most reputable dealers will. Thanks Dan! Happy holidays buddy!🎄 Fish On! 🎣👍
Dan, I've been wanting to ask for a while now... what made you prefer a 3wt to shoot streamers? I know there aren't necessarily hard-fast rules about weights and flies, except that the former should be matched to throw the latter, but most folks think 6 or 7wt to chuck those heavier presentations. I also know that water and fish size will drive what gear that we hook them up with. Nice videos and let me know if you're ever on the CdA River. Peace.
Been using the Lower D as my river of choice to learn how to fly fish. Only been able to get out about 4 times and I spend more time tangled, stuck in trees and bushes and re-rigging, but man... There's no place like it and it's such a beautiful area! Stoked you were able to get out on the water, and YES! It's starting to get cold around these parts!
@@FlyFishDan Wow that is amazing to catch such nice trout right in town! you definitely should fish the lower Deschutes some day beautiful river and really strong trout.
Deschutes is widely known - throughout the U.S. I have named plenty of places in Washington that are popular (Yakima River, Lenice Lake, Skagit, ColdWater Lake, etc), However, I think it’s fair that I have decided that I’m not going to name the lake or small stream that I spent years trying to find on my own. Cheers!
