I did a cup this way once. I used rainbow colors, then hit it with my hair dryer from the bottom toward the top - on high halfway on and off the cup. It turned out beautiful!
So how long do you wait for the first thing of epoxy to dry before put next coat on? And do you still do the first epoxy and the different colors and than let that dry and than put decal on and another layer of epoxy
This is so Gorgeous I Luv Luv Luv it♡ Did I say how much I Luv this it looks Yummmmmy♡ When you were making it, it looked like you were icing a cake♡ So Beautiful! !!☆ I luv your tshirt too, did U make that too? Did you epoxy again after the paint was dry?
What a great video! The process is actually fun! I have made two cups from your video and everyone is loving them. I have reposted your video at last a dozen times and my first pic got 460 likes! Thank you!
This is so cool you make it look really easy I have almost all the supplies that purple is my favorite color too new friend here I have my own channel I'd like to invite you to come check it out I'm new but I've learned alot from others thank you for sharing
From what I have seen in other videos if applying a decal you do. So after doing all this you would then take your decal of choice apply it and then coat one more time. :)
Many tumbler makers don't wear them during tutorial videos because it's hard to hear them but wear them every other time. And yes you want a respirator mask that is certified for organic vapors.
Why is it that so many people mention epoxy, but not what kind or what part is what in "2 part" measuring or whatever????? Is "A" and "B" an actual name or just differentiating between two things???? ;_______;
Using the self leveling epoxy you need a turner. Go to Amazon and Etsy to see the options. There are plenty of reasonable options. Also search you tube for building your own.
Would this be the same if you are using alcohol ink? I was not sure if alcohol inks were only to be applied when all of the epoxy is already on the cup and you drip it on, or if you could add the ink to the cup as you did the acrylic paint. I loved the tutorial and it actually answered a lot of my questions on how to do some of the things I have seen on cups! :-)
Can you do the "cells" like the paint pours some people are doing? Would it work in epoxy and have the same affect? These are great... honestly tho I might be getting way too many ideas running through my brain where I won't be sleeping again lol.... HAPPY EARLY THANKSGIVING 😍😍 these are great 🥰🥰
I made a tumbler but my epoxy stayed tacky. I read somewhere that the room needs to be warm for the epoxy to cure and dry and my room was very cool. Is this true? Any suggestions? It was a pain peeling everything off. Thanks for any ideas you can give me. Patty
Nice tumbler! Very pretty. Seems relatively simple to do. You said to check tumbler at bottom because its easier to fix a smudge mark at the bottom, but you didn't say how to fix it.
I guess I put to much paint in the epoxy and I have like blobs of paint it never did thin out is why I kept adding more paint now I think I may have a bumpy tumbler
I really enjoyed this tutorial! Unique with the way you've added the designs! My only complaint is that I had my volume all the way up and missed some of what you said.
I tried this for a beach tumbler. The glitter ran off the end like liquid gold and I found that the acrylic epoxy pulled from the top. What did I do wrong?
candy cooper make sure your spray paint is matte/ flat or satin. Epoxy doesn’t stick too well to gloss spray paint. For glitter, you can add some to your epoxy mix.
Thank you for this video. I heard you just fine. I was going to make a dirty pour tumbler but I love this more. I am about to head out to Wal-Mart to buy the paint. =)
Yes. Epoxy is a two part mixative. You must mix two even parts of A and B. Once mixed, that is what you will ALWAYS use to put into your cup or add paint to. Never use only one side, the epoxy will never cure and will always be wet
I like your technique of spreading the first layer of epoxy, will def try that on my next one. I get what you mean by trying the bottom of the cup to test for dryness, I test the inside lip for this. Great job.
Can you use a dark background? I was wondering how it would look with a black background and more pastel colors (pink, blue, purple) on a black background
How do you know what color 🤔 to use for the spray paint on the tumbler? I want to make some tumblers for former classmates and our school colors are Burgundy, White and Gold
I use whichever spray paint color I have on hand. Or the lightest of the two. I would use white in your case. It’s easier to put darker colors over lighter colors.
It does. You just cut it out with an exacto blade then wash it with dish soap. Check out my video on how to clean the rim of your tumbler. I have beginners playlist!
You can either place it on the drying rack or leave it on the turner, Wherever. Just make sure it is not touching anything else and don't remove it from the pipe arm, because it is still tacky and you will smudge or add finger prints to the tumbler.
I'm new to doing tumblers. You say to use clear epoxy on the cup before you put the paint on it. Do you mean to mix the 2 parts together and put some up there?
Yes. You always mix part A and Part B together before applying it to the tumbler. Since you are a beginner, check out my beginner playlist, there’s a video that goes over everything and there’s also a video to break down materials you will need to start making tumblers
I’ve personally never epoxied glass. But, I see people do it all the time. I would try it out!! As for the cup turner, a great beginners cup turner, you can find on Amazon. Try typing in Noddway cup turner. It is pink and comes with silicon brushes and measuring cups!
Looks great! I have a question. I would like to use purple, yellow and white for this. I’m curious if you think these colors would turn into an ugly brown using this method. What’s your experience with using colors that don’t mix well together for this?
You clean up the rim and inside last. You take an exacto knife and cut the epoxy off the rim and off the inside. If there is paint or ink inside a little nail polish remover will clean it right up.
Will epoxy work in cold weather??? Even though I have a heat gun. It’s hard to work with my littles running around. If I hide in our shed I can work I just don’t have heat. It’s currently 50 degrees
Thanks so much for making these thorough videos! I can't wait to make my first one... I'm even considering purchasing two cup turners to work on another tumbler in between! thanks again!
