Yes, I HAVE FORGOTTEN TO MENTION Death and Decay... 🤦♂🤷♂ This just highlights to me that I need to script my videos more rather than shoot from the hip, and it's easy to assume that people understand the real basics but if they did - they wouldn't watch this video, right? *sigh* So anyway, Death and Decay is your AOE pull priority, drop it when you're tanking more than 2-3 targets and if you know they won't die within the next 2 seconds. Death and Decay is amazing and staple ability for Death Knights - which is part of the reason why I forgot to mention it - as it's just so so OBVIOUS and everyone is using it even without any guide. But anyway, apologies for forgetting about it. *Drop DnD whenever you can be bothered, basically*. What's less obvious is stuff that I told you about - such as the bone shield stacks etc. Hopefully it still helped you. Peace.
Just a little tip as I main blood dk for a while now (still getting to grips with it :D.......get it?.....see what I did there?....grip?...ahem) Anyway yes Just to let you know make sure and pop dancing rune as your popping abomination limb as It will instantly give you 5 stacks of boneshield and as abomination limb goes on you very quickly build up to 10 stacks so provided you are standing in your death and decay then you can pop tombstone for massive AOE damage at a cost of 5 bone charges. the more bone charges you spend he faster your dancing rune weapon comes off cd so it pays to be aggressive. Dont worry they will go right back up to 10 as your abomination limb continues to damage :). also during your dancing rune weapon a single marrowend will give you 9 charges of bone shield instead of 3 (if talented correctly) So in short I am saying you can pop death and decay, then dancing rune weapon, then abomination limb and then tomb stone. boom. massive damage and tons of shield at same time. weave bloodboil, heart strike and death strike in after and then put down another death and decay etc :) I love it :) Oh last little tip. You can put in a little weak aura that makes a noise when bone stacks drop below a certain number. I set it to 4 so I get a audio reminder to restack in a busy raid boss lol. All this is dpendant on some talents of course like insatiable blade but regardless have fun.
The parry chance stays at 40% with the second rune weapon, but all abilities trigger an additional time, so marrowrend gives you 9 charges, you apply 3 blood plagues etc
Recommendations for WA: 1. Track stacks of Bone Shield. They are important for knowing when to cast Dancing Rune Weapon (since DRW gives 5 stacks) and when to cast Tombstone (removing 5 stacks). 2. Track timer of Death and Decay. Just making sure you renew it at the very end of the timer and not waste a charge. If you want to optimise your DPS I can also add a tracker for Icy Talons buff just to make sure you renew it at the end of it and not let it drop to get a permanent 15% melee hit haste.
Small additions: 1. know the dungeon, delay Abo limb if you know a pack with a lot of casters is coming, you rarely need both it and DRW (especially defensively) 2. Use Bloodboil almost immediately after DRW to get the maximum out of the 3 plagues. 3. If you are doing m+ make sure to use Abo limb right before the key starts to get 9 free boneshields (might matter if you do a more complex first pull where you cant pop your big CDs immediately)
Regarding mobility. In fights you rarely need it. And outside of fights it doesn’t matter that much. As long as there is 1 other slower class in your group being super mobile as a tank (vengeance jumping and flying around) makes no difference when you have to wait to pull anyways. And there is always the option for Goblin + engineer for great mobility options.
That's fair. I see good Blood DK move (yes, maybe a bit slower) thought the dungeon BUT collecting MASSIVE groups of mobs, LOS around the corner and setting up those mass murder pools much better than any other tank. Which makes up for lesser mobility.
