Easy CABIN for beginners Charoal Pencil drawing

In this Fridays tutorial, we are drawing an Austrian landscape, mountains, Pinetrees and a log cabin. During my visit to Austria, I made a plain air pen sketch of this scenery and here, back in Holland, I worked it out further in charcoal and pastel pencil, and recorded it for you ^^

I am a landscape Architect student online and I try to use all your tutorials to help me. I mainly struggle with perspective and scale. As most of my drawings are in close order, i.e. all you see many times is just the yard and house. I love charcoal drawings btw. Nice work!!!

Great drawing, I love it. :) Question: do you use a fixative on your charcoal and pastel drawings? If yes which one? Do you also use a fixative on your sketches in your sketchbook you showed in the beginning? My personal experiences with fixatives is quite negative, many of them kill the brilliance of the pastel colors.

Hi Christine! Thank you so much for your compliment and I only use fixative when I frame my drawings or ship them off. In that case, I use cheap hairspray from a distance of about 40 cm applying two or three layers and as little as possible. You cannot notice it and my drawing stays in place perfectly!
