How to make an easy Calzone recipe.
This recipe yields 4 pieces calzones.
Here's what you'll need:
1 cup warm water (250ml)
1 tsp instant yeast (3g)
2 tbsp sugar (25g)
3 tbsp oil (45ml)
3 cups of flour (375g)
1 tsp salt (5g)
1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or more
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or more
eggwash: 1 egg + 2 tbsp water

Tried this tonight. That is the last time I will ever engage in this nightmare. It took an hour of fighting to form 2 12 in semi circular blobs. I'm sure it was not your dough(everyone's is pretty much the same and no one else seems to have this problem) thought I could cook just about anything. Wrong! Watched 10 videos did exactly what everyone shows. Disaster! Cooked at 390 for 20 until golden brown. It was so hard we had to use steak knives. Never again. Too much cursing, throwing things, throwing away dough. Afterwards I had to get drunk.

Don't take the time to seriously. I made it today and it took me 15-20 min instead of 20-25 as per recipe. It was delicious. For the yeast make sure the water is not to hot as it will kill it.

THIS RECIPE IS A KEEPER !!!!!!!!!!! I've been on a bread🍞 kick lately and finally tried this calzone recipe. Wow family devoured them, so I made a second batch and was able to have some leftovers. Tried them the next day to see if they were any good heated up in the microwave, and i think they tasted even better! Seems like the flavor of the ingredients really soaked in they were amazing!! SOOOOO....Keep your Pizza Hut, who needs to pay 50.00 for take out when there is Dough this good. Thank you Savor Easy what perfect pizza/calzone dough this is and so easy to make. Family was 100% Satisfied!! and I'm 100% Satisfied!!!!!!!!!!!! 💯💞💕🧡💛💜💓💕 Ingrediants I used was Pizza sauce, Green Peppers, Banana Peppers, Pepperoni and Italian sausage (crumbled and browned first) a little garlic powder in the Italian sausage while it was browning. SOOOO GOOD💞❤💛💙🤎🤍💗💕

Thanks for this recipe, I make it two times already and I think that the dough could also perfect for pizza dough because the consistency is very soft.. I really loved it 😋😋😋 thanks so much, for this recipe I made 4pcs of calzone yummy😋😋

It works well for pizza. I use it for a large deep dish pizza during the winter and make two thin crust pizzas for cast iron grilling during the summer. 500 on the grill for ten minutes. 425 for 20-25 for the oven.

I made this today. It was good. Something that I think would have helped was the size that you rolled the dough out into before you added meat and cheese. Also, the bread, for me, needed a bit more salt. They were beautiful. Thank you for this recipe. :D

Hi! I love love all your work! Thank You for inspiring so many people.. I have questions regarding sponge cake, hope you see this and answer me.. so I’m planning to make a sponge cake using llanera. Say I have 10 llanera’s half filled with sponge cake batter in the oven baking and I have more left over batter because I want to make like 20 pcs of sponge cake, can I bake it in different batches? Will the merengue deflate while waiting? I have to wait for the first batch to bake because I have limited number of llanera. Hofe for your response soon. Thank You and be well!

An authentic Calzone would never have Cheddar cheese in it! It would be a mix of ricotta, mozz and provolone. This looks delicious though..I would have to throw in a lot more seasoned ricotta...Nothing better than seeing bubbling cheese!! lolol TY!

I tried to make the calzone today and it didn't come out well, dough was not nearly as pliable or smooth as shown could not split it evenly, and it came out too thick, also I tried pinching it and it wouldn't stick, what am I doing wrong?

Nice but probs be better if glazed with garlic butter rather than eggwash? Or just a little olive oil for those that dont like garlic?

Easy tasty pizza sauce is a can of crushed tomatoes and season with a pinch of sugar, salt, and garlic. (stir with fork and its ready for this calzone)

Made this and after adding the egg wash I sprinkled garlic Italian seasoning with a little powderd parmesan cheese on top made with homemade sauce came awesome thank you.

I tried this today for the first time of course i double the recipe.off course i has a lil trouble pinching around the dough to make it look beautiful like yours but i manage...😋 love the touch of the dough i let it go an extra 30 min it grow beautifully and the end results Chef moi represent❤ I am proud of myself my kitchen my rules so, i went crazy with different flavors chicken alfredo, Buffalo, mix both why not 😅👏🏽Thank you apreciate your time and love God bless...me buying calzone when who😂thanks to you

This dough was perfect & I’m so happy I found this recipe. I used a different filling. As the dough was rising, I cooked then cooled pepperoni, Italian sausage, yellow onion, white mushrooms, green bell pepper, slap ya mama Cajun, smoked paprika, garlic salt. I also used mozzarella & marinara during the filling process. I actually cut the dough into 6 pieces and made them smaller. Baked at 390 for 27 minutes because some need a little more color, cooled in pan on rack for 10min.

I tried this recipe today. I have never made a calzone before. The crust was ideal. I changed the ingredients for the filling, and everyone was quite surprised as to how it turned out.

Just made these tonight added some garlic and parmesean to ricotta and added a little parm on top .. was delicious. I may lighten up on the ricotta though.. it was very good but I enjoy more mozzarella

I’ll give it a try. I only did it once when I was a young girl feeling domestic and thirsty to learn how to cook. 😅 I followed a recipe which was reviewed in a newspaper, I think and made it wuth a very simple stuffing of chopped tomatoes and onions mixed with mayonnaise. The dough had chopped parsley in it and buttermilk which I didn’t have in habd back then and mixed milk with vinegar (a tip I read in a family magazine and that was WAY before internet was born 😂 those days were gold) then brushed it with milk after I sealed it with a fork and voila... out of the gas oven which was a challenge to me back then 😅 in about a half hour. My sisters Luved it so much and in the matter of fact my younger sister still remembers it and is demanding it the reason I am here. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂But have got to knead for 10 minutes?? 🤦🏻‍♀️ Don’t think I have that energy still in me. 🤣
