I made the Coca Cola wings for the first time today! Oh my days! They were delicious, a must try people, I also garnished with fresh coriander and that went so so well (just missed sesame seed, ran out) Thank you so much for the recipe and keep up the good work Mikey, I’m a big fan of all your channels! 😊 x
This recipe is *AMAZING*.Tried it today and the results were just spectacular. I did replace the beer with soya sauce but nonetheless it was still amazing. Recommended to those of you guys who can not drink beer. The chickens flavour and the thick cola glaze is just a match made in heaven. Strongly recommended.
One of our fraternity brother's dad was a chef/cook. He used to recommend using a can of coke and some ketchup on chicken. Make kind of a barbecue sauce.
Finally, you're cooking! Ok, I just think that cola chicken 's bit too sweet for my liking but by adding some calamansi juice or lemon juice, the dish will be elevated to another level.
Hi Mikey 🤗have you done any cooking videos with your mum, showcasing her recipes? Her food always looks so good whenever you are visiting in your videos 😋
I’m making this recipe for potluck this Sunday so I’m trying to find both soy sauces you had but can’t find them so I will use the typical kikkoman and will thicken it with cornstarch and will buy other light sauce. Thanks for posting this looks awesome 😎 🙏
Marinade raw chicken legs in southern sweet tea for 24hrs in fridge, then bread it and fry. Add a dash of lemon pepper, 1 tbls Cheyenne pepper to however you mix your breading mix and fry and enjoy.
There's a Peruvian dish called Arroz Moro. It is a rice dish with vermicelli noodles, golden raisins, pecans, ham and/or bacon, red bell pepper, and... Coca Cola ^_^ It's really good, not very sweet and it just hits the spot. I think I'll try this wing recipe. Love things like beer and wine and such in recipes. I don't really drink 99.99% of the time, but the flavor those drinks add to dishes is amazing!
I have seen many variations of the cocacola recipe , is it okay to use onion in place of the scallions? And can i add in oyster sauce and sweet chilli sause?
From start to deliciously presented finish it was yummiest happy to see you cook in your new home. Will definitely be trying. Oh, and loving the long cooking chopsticks too! 💜💖💜🤙💋
My mother would marinate beef in coke overnight and make the most amazing Korean bbq. So I can totally see this working - brb going to the grocery store to buy wings.
Hi Mike , I was thinking use this recipe for my friend but she don't like beer or any alcohol at all. What would you suggest to replace the beer with, time marinate the chicken before added the coke in wok ? Thanks Mikey
I have never had chicken wings with Coca Cola, however I haven't heard it being used in any certain marinades or even and barbecue sauce here in America. I'm not trying to diss it or anything.. But is it good if it seems odd to me because I never grew up with other ever saw before but has anybody ever have it is it worth trying? Seriously.
My former mother in law used to make this sometimes while my ex and I were in China to spend time with his family. It is indeed a very delicious way of cooking! Don’t think my former mother in law used beer though, but she did cook chicken with Coca Cola or Pepsi and it was amazing! I’ve cooked some adaptations of dishes she would cook, adaptations mainly due to the limits here in Sweden as I simply don’t have access to many things used in Chinese cooking. I miss my former in laws a lot, and think about them often, and I sure hope they and the rest of my Chinese family are safe over in China. I’d text them, but language barrier is a thing :(
