✨Free Crochet Pattern - Skylar Crop Top - forthefrills.com/beginner-crochet-crop-top-free-pattern-video-tutorial Check out the free crochet crop top pattern! It has all the sizing info (sizes XS - 3XL), measurements, yarn amounts and alteration instructions ☺
just finished this project tonight and it had been a long time since i felt so proud of doing something. i had never touched a crochet needle before and i actually bought the supplies just to make this crop top, but when i first started it was just sooooo hard for me. i kept making the same mistakes over and over again until i gave up for like 2 months and tried again. this time, i paid more attention to the way her hands moved and i was also more patient to myself. i didn't feel bad i had to undo all the stitches so many times, because i wasn't competing with myself, i was doing this just for fun - and because i really wanted a white top for a long time. so, thank you
Honestly...I have never felt so excited from changing a door knob because these past few months was just me watching RU-vid and doing homework. I was literally depressed from watching RU-vid and doing nothing all day long. 😂
I just learned how to crochet this week and I made this in 2-3 days! The video tutorial is super easy to follow along with. I added thicker straps and made the top a little longer, and I love it so much! I want to make one in every colour :)
@@lilyfrank7165 A beginner can do with any but the hook size depends on the wool, normally on the wool it will say what hook you need (for crochet or knitting) also smaller/thinner yarn is harder for beginners i would say
@@isabellebooth4958 I am not ready yet but i am doing the long part and I’m in the half way and I have already used 2 yarns so i recommend buing 5 yarns just in case (I made my work with fat yarn:D)
Also if people are still here reading this, I would like to wear a bra (not strapless) while wearing this top once I’m done so I’m making the straps bigger. If you feel more comfortable wearing bras I suggest doing this.
this is honestly a superb tutorial! you go through each step so that a beginner can understand, without getting stuck & being too slow, so those of us that already know the basics can get to the point. 10/10 i’m really inspired
Do a half double crochet into the back loop. from the top, crochet stitches look like sideways V's made up of two loops each. the back loop is the one away from you, and the front loop is the one closest to you. "half double crochet" means you yarn over, insert your hook into the loop, grab the yarn and pull through so you would have three loops on your hook. then yarn over again, and pull that through all three loops.
I finished this top with yellow yarn and it came out so beautiful. This was my first project and my best friend praised the top by saying it's beautiful
I learned how to sew and crochet when I was about 13, got teased and never touched any of it. 29 now and picked up my crochet hook thanks to this video. Thank you! 💕
So I learned how to crochet when I was like 7 but I never rlly made anything but a few squares with a single crochet, lol. It's been a few years and Im twelve now, and I started to crochet again an Im rlly happy for this tutorial, ty!!!
When u find some yarn and a really old rainbow loom hook in your house and are now currently attempting to make this cause you have nothing better to do and this popped up on your RU-vid home page, not nearly as good as hers but so far so good :)
I made this and it took me like a week but I am so happy with the results! Thank you so much this was actually really easy to do. I just ended up putting it off because I got really busy throughout the week. I love this so much!
Am I the only person here who actually knows how to crochet- no I’m not old, I’m only 12 Edit [?]: I can see that many people here know how to crochet :) Edit 1: my amazing friend reminded me of this comment, and oh man holy shi- MOM I’M FAMOUS Edit 2: I’m 13 now 😂 edit 3: three years later it’s so nice to see all the people who began crocheting young :D)
Thank Yu Soo much I'm a beginner in crochet and I'm to say that I'm half way through of finishing this top❤ I just ran out of yarn but thank Yu very much ❤🎉
I literally just learned to crochet by watching you. Your instructions and explanations are so clear and It's so much easier than following a step-by-step video. I've been doing this for the last 3 hours and it's so addicting and comforting at the same time. Thank you!
OMMMMMGGG I really cannnnnoot wait to buy the materials and start crocheting. I am so new to this and watched a few videos already. I love your video, thank you sooooooooo much!!!
Hi there! I suggest you watch some videos on the basics of crocheting before you make projects like these, I suggest you watch Bella coco’s absolute beginner series, helped me a lot when I just started!
Thankyou so much for this. I didn’t know crochet work was so fast and simple. I have always been knitting cuz I never owned crochet hooks and istg knitting a top took me ages with all the counting and accodental drops here and there which I again had to open up and redo. It took me 5 days to learn and complete this using crochet hook. I’m honestly so happy with the speed😭😭
I have the exact same problem currently! I generally love knitting but now I'm seeing crochet and how fast it is- I just ran out of yarn but I'm planning to learn it as soon as the yarn comes
Wow ...am doing this soonest ....i have always engaged myself in crocheting when I was a little bit younger and I think it's with the help of this tutorial that I am encouraged to make something worth a gift
it's my first time crocheting, taking a break from it right now to use the bathroom😂 i spent an hour just trying to finish the first row, had to undo the entire stitch multiple times but i can't wait for the end result. surprisingly, i dont feel frustrated whenever i make a mistake. instead, it's a really calming activity for me. i might have just found my new hobby🥰
I just did this and it came out beautiful, same colour of yarn I just made the sleeves a tiny bit thicker, your tutorials are so easy to follow..Thank you so much ❤️
I had forgotten about my winter hibernation belly.... Guess I will either gift it to my fit friend or proceed to exercise... Which will probably be a little bit too difficult.
what i do is wear it underneath a white mock or white t-shirt, and depending on the color of the yarn you could put it over a black neck or black shirf
@@victoriaomamara6661 I think yes because it would take longer if you would want your top to be longer or bigger but I don't think it would take like almost a day
I have been doing this project since the time it was released and I was 12 when I started crocheting, and this was my first clothing project at age 16. I'm now 19 and have done over 6 colors of this tank top! 3 yrs ago, quarantine, doesn't feel too long ago :). Subscribed! ❤
Yay! Thank you so much! 😍 Just what everyone needs during lockdown. This'll be my last project during quarantine, hopefully ❤️ (working on a second panel of your Elevation Sweater at the moment)!
i finished mine and it was sooo beautiful!! i was worried at first it won't look good but it looks so pretty!!! i messed up on connecting the two sides a little bit but its not noticeable so it was fine. I LOVE IT SO MUCH THANK YOUUUU❤
Hi! I started this one a while ago and was around half of it when I realized it was just way too stiff to be used as summer clothing (wrong hook, quarantine supplies... You know) and since I wanted to make it work with what I had, I changed from hdc to dc, now it's a little bit more see through but it's definitely more elastic and light. I might also add some decor on the lower rim if I feel like it, ty for such a customizable pattern! It's really easy to just do it, I already redid 1/3 of it in a few days between videos
I am nearly done with this!!! I am ✨insecure ✨ so I'll probs not wear it a lot but still I'm proud of getting this far. I made it a bit big but my yarn is very stretchy so When I put it on I pull it in place and it's fine. I'll quickly make the straps so see ya in a sec
Your tutoriala are amazing! Neat and creative, that is what i am looking for! May i ask; can you do more tutorials of nice Cropp tops like this one? Bralets would be super too
Thank you for your tutorials ! I just made this and I love it ! Now I'm starting the sea breeze tank top. I couldn't find what I wanted to do in crochet these days but you saved me! I totally fell in love with your channel!
So I went and bought supplies today to make this. I haven’t crocheted a thing since I was like 9. I’m not gonna lie, it’s been a stressful night but all in all it’s looking good so far! Better than I expected. This tutorial is so easy to follow for beginners. Be patient and you’ll get it.
This is awesome but takes forever to make 70 rows!!!!!! Also look at the other tips and scrunches they are awesome to and EASY I’m just a beginner and now I’m a pro!!
I did it horizontally, used double crochet and did the two double crochet row at a time method and it still took long. I'm thinking i should have left the bank open and string it instead
I changed from hdc to dc (it was too stiff) and it definitely takes a lot of time, with no changes on the pattern at all, so it can get boring... But as a pattern, it's definitely easy and hard to get wrong
Thanks! It was so clear! Finished mine today, I spent 3 days at it but it is my first try at crochet. I used 2 balls of 218 yards, but only used less than half of the second, I am 86cm in my chest and I would say I'm an S. I think it turned up lovely! Thanks again!
Thumbs up 👍 to this tutorial, very easy to understand and very easy to follow. And now I just made myself a cute crop top [my first crochet wear/cloth]🤸 yeah!!! After a very long time of wanting to do this, I finally did it and am very happy with the finished product{took me about a week and a day or two; just finished it at the time of writing this}. However, I did some alterations in mine: 1. I added zip instead of stitching the two sides together; making the side with the zip the front part of the top. 2. I put a solid strap{of 6 SC with a SC border around} instead of the tiny one. I made the straps separately and sewed it on the top. 3. I made mine with multiple colours {to use up my leftover yarns}. And it came out beautiful and look good on me. Thanks for this tutorial
i just finished making this with a lilac yarn. it's my first relatively big project and it took about four days to finish but i love the final look. thank you for this beginner friendly tutorial!💜
thank you so much for this cool video i just made this for 30 hours for my aunt and she really like this and so proud of me by the way im kust 10 years old and turning 11 in december thank you so much for sharing this tutorial❤❤❤
I really like your top crochet tutorials ! It’s really easy and looks amazing!🥰 I am very excited to make this for my best friend for her birthday soon.🥺💕
