I don't know how I missed this tutorial last year...but it came up that someone made it on one of my crochet groups on Facebook and it's absolutely gorgeous!!! I am one of those crocheters that only does one project at a time but I chose a project that has me burned out for various reasons...so I think I am going to put that project on the shelf for the time being and crochet this poncho...through the years I have learned so much from this channel and I come back you tutorials again and again...thank you for all the hard work and dedication you put into you're channel 💜

for anyone who needs the neck hole bigger/smaller, you can choose a number bigger/smaller rhan 76 thats evenly divisible by 4. the quotent is the key number. start with the point as instructed, but now sc 1 stitch less than the quotent, then make the next point, and so on. 76 sitches wasnt enough for me to get my head through, even though im using 4 yarn and 6mm hook 😭 had to quickly adapt edit: LMAOOO IM SO DUMB. at 11:20 they say how the weight of the poncho will make the neck hole bigger!!! ill keep this comment up just incase someone is using a smaller yarn/hook :)

I just purchased the yarn and was thinking that she spliced the colors together. Now, I know for sure she did based on your comment. I will splice them, too, to get the same results. It looks gorgeous.

@@dawnsky11 No, I will not unravel the roll. There are 5 colors within the skein. I will start with a color from the first roll, and if need more, take the same color from another roll. This will causes knots and weaving, and I’m thinking it will be worth it in the end.

Thank you so much for this! I'm very much a beginner in crocheting and don't really understand written crocheting instructions, but this video was really simple and easy to follow. I grew so much in confidence when I realized after like 6 layers that this is going so smoothly that I don't need to check the instructions anymore at all! I'm doing mine fully in black, but the stitching is very beautiful.

I’m embarrassed to ask this question but how is it increasing by 12 stitches every round when you’re doing the exact same thing with every round? I don’t understand how it’s increasing. Thank you I really look forward to making one

Hey! Sorry for replying a year late but it’s increasing 12 stitches because in every single row, in the empty chain two spaces you add 12 new stitches (four each for the sharper ends and two each for the softer ends)

I found another great striping yarn. It is called Puzzle by Premier. It says it is a 5 bulky, but I think it is on the low end of that rating. I started with a K hook but moved back to a J hook because I liked the way the stitches looked better. I love this pattern and am trying a few different yarns to see what I like best. So far, this puzzle yarn is working up wonderfully. I do have pictures but do not see where to post them.
