Great tutorial! If you do decide to use your own shells, be sure to clean them really well with a wire brush, then let them sit in a 10% bleach solution for at least 24 hours, rinse, the dry in the sun. It’s nice to have the option of craft-ready shells, but if you’re in an area where you can get the shells for free, I love the full DIY experience!
I love them all, and I have been doing it too...thanks about the gild. I use metallic paint and looks lovely, yet I'll try the guild and gold leaf it's something I'll try. Thank you so much. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Heidi, just come across you - great tutorial, I shall be back. I paint and fill oyster shells but never decoupaged before hence searching and coming across yourself. I love oysters so always take home the shells from restaurants, to clean I just bung in the dishwasher, it works a treat. I'll definitely be following you from now on. Best wishes. Helen UK
I literally just picked three bags of oysters shells off the beach, most already sun bleached, some have algae I need to bleach. Can't wait to try this.
I like each style. I guess it depends on who you’re giving it to and what do you think they would like best. They’re all so beautiful. I sure would like to see the back of them though
Thanks so much for your tutorials. This is something I am interested in doing. I also want to make these and use my Mother's old vintage jewelry to decorate them as Keepsakes for my family. ❤️
I love your tutorial... I just got back from Arizona and we had driven to Moro Bay California... It was beautiful and I had visited a Sea Shell Shop that's in Moro Bay... Beautiful place .! The whole area is beautiful... Thank you for sharing you technic of decorating the shell's... First time watching you...
Beautiful! I think I want to make one for my mom's birthday & put little paper candy cups with chocolate carmels & wrap all with celophane wrap & bow! So pretty!🎁
Hi my name is Cynthia russell and I am new to your channel..I love your napkins..chinoisserie is my favorite as well as birds and floral..I must say your guild is pretty but for me it's too much work so I used paint pens..I used shells from Michael's and glued pearl beads around the scalloped edges for weddings as the rings holder...I love that you are also a believer and look forward to seeing more of your work ❤
Hi Heidi , first off thank you so much for your patient and calm demeanor! I found other tutorials a little too intense. I am brand spanking new at crafting . Tonight I had made my first attempt at a shell decoupage . I had honestly watch another video that suggested gold paint . But I had a difficult time with it . Tomorrow I will buy the gold leaf . It didn’t quite catch the other item ? The glue part? What was that called ? Unfortunately my napkin part of it goes right to the edge . I should have made it smaller! Can I still do the gold leaf on top of Napkin ??? Sorry this comment is so lengthy but I’m such a newbie with all this! But I’m excited to finally get a little crafty ! I live on the ocean in Palm Bech Florida . Thank you ! God bless
I found some great etsy sellers that sell napkins either individually or in bundles; it's a great way to get a variety without buying the full packages!
I loved this video! I was watching this as i was decoupaging my shells and you were great company! Id love to see a video of you doing a large conch shell or an animals skull. I'm going to attempt both soon and theres hardly any videos on RU-vid of how to do them, like people are keeping the method a secret😂😞 thanks
Hi Heidi! My name is April and this is my first time to your channel. My husband and myself are hosting a beach house week in June for all 6 of our children, their SO’s and grandchildren. I’ve seen these on Etsy and thought they would make nice souvenirs for the daughter in laws. But since watching your video, I think I’m going to go ahead and purchase the items needed for this craft and we can make them together, a much better memory! And cheaper!😂 Thank you for sharing! God Bless!
Hello 👋 Im new and happy to find your art ,will follow you and subscribe. ❤ thanks a lot to share the beautiful artwork you doing ❤ Greetings from Florida to you and all good people.😊 ❤
I LOVE this SOOO MUCH!! Have been following you on Facebook for a while now and so glad to see this post here! 😍 Will definitely do this with the shells and napkins I’ve been collecting for “future projects”!!
I like them both ..to me it depends on shape and size of the shells..thinking of adding pearls for “feet” to some of the shells and maybe some small pearls or a tiny shell inside the shell depending on the pattern of the napkin. Love you show.
Love love your work ❤️ beautiful, creative, many uses ! First time seeing you and your video ; looking forward to seeing more!! Watching from Houston, Texas .
