Definitely fill the PVC pipe with sand, duct tape to seal off the ends. Wrap in aluminum foil before putting in oven. As a handle curve mold, use a large coffee or industrial food can (empty or full). Immerse in a sink or tub of cool water. When the pipe is soft, use oven mitts you don't mind getting wet to wrap the pipe around the can in the water. Your handle will cool off and harden in place a lot faster. If the curve isn't right, just re-heat and do again, but it should be nigh-well perfect.

Or easier, just buy two PVC corners and cut three straight portions, joint them together and PVC cement them to form an handle, fill that handle with concrete to gain some weight and add some rigidity and close both end with duct tape to avoid any leakage when transferring it inside the recipient chosen as the KB's body. It will look cleaner, it's easier and everything will fall straight!

How's your bell holding up? Just finished mine & it came out damn near perfect. Here's what I did differently on mine based on way too much research: 1. Didn't want the pipe in the oven, so I heated up sand. 450° for 30 min. Then poured it into the PVC. 2. Used a board with pegs to bend the heated pipe to shape. 3. Put 3 bolts on each end of the handle that gets inserted into the quikcrete. This & the curved PVC will help anchor it into the quikcrete. 4. Used the green bag of quikcrete. Supposedly stronger, better cohesion. 5. Used a thick black trash bag to mix the quikcrete. This speeds up the mixing part & really helped give it the wet oatmeal consistency. My coronabell weighed in at 30 lbs. Thanks for your video!

I was searching for mountain hiking and knew you were Canadian, and what a coincidence you happened to go hiking with Foresty Forest, who I watch quite a bit. I learned this day that his real name is Simon 😄🇨🇦❤ I love this type of DIY video. I don't use kettle bells but when I do resistance training it is generally at home with home items. When doing Bulgarian split squats. Is is very easy to hold a bag of canned foods as weight, or a backpack. My home cardio I like to have a recumbent bike though so I can be on my computer or other desk work while moving my legs. I do a exercise much more regularly that I have a comfortable setup such as that.

This is so smart! I've been experimenting with kettlebell work lately, definitely a budget-friendly way to use a great exercise.

Great job! I actually liked the old basketball look without painting it but it came out awesome.

@@nikhilgravemma345 Yes, I did. You will definitely enjoy it, however I made the mistake of using an old bowl instead a ball. WRONG MOVE! Now I only have two 11lb 'kettlebells' instead of a 20/25/35 pounder.

Lovely! Cool video! Just curious - what's the original size of basket ball - size 7? And what's the weight of the final kettle bell? Thanks!
