In this video Phil gives a detailed explanation on how to build your very own easy DIY cat scratching post. Phil also explains how to figure out the amount of sisal rope you need to wrap your post (round or square) and what sizes to use!

Material list (This includes extra materials added throughout the video)
1. Wooden Base (We used 2 large wooden spool tops glued together) Email info@rightrope.com for interest in purchasing these!
2. Wooden Top (We used 2 small wooden spool tops glued together)

3. Wooden Post (We glued 3 short 2x4s together)
4. Sisal Rope (We used 134ft of our 3/8" diameter sisal rope to wrap our post and 1.5 inch & 1 inch diameter sisal rope for the edges)

5. A Hot Glue Gun (to help secure the rope)
6. 8 Screws (We ended up using around 18 screws altogether for extra support for the sisal rope edges. This is not a necessity but is recommended!)
7. A Screwdriver or Screw Gun
8. 2 small nails and a hammer (Used to secure the start and end of the sisal rope wrapped around the post)
If you want to get fancy with your cat post...
Try putting carpet on the top and bottom or try sanding the wood and staining or painting it!
