Check for acidity in your soil the first few years. Cinder block can botch up your soil if it wasn't properly cured (most isn't)

At minimum, 6-8" of good garden soil is needed on top. Filling the bottom with organic matter is great but generally used in much deeper raised beds.

Nope, cinder blocks are made w chemicals that can leach into food. Same w pressure treated lumber.
