Hi Friends!
I filmed this in my living room with poor lighting and um, not the best audio but hopefully you get the point and it inspires you to make your own crown!
Its super fun and inexpensive , I personally enjoy making these. Hope this is helpful and don't forget to tag me in any of the head crowns you make, I would love to see!

Looks amazing for winging it!!! Try spray painting the pieces before you assemble it next time and you won't have spray painted glue blobs. I've done lots of trial and error in this type of thing with making costumes. Also try foam sealed with a sealing agent instead of cardboard. It will be sturdier and the foam comes in various thicknesses. Loving the arts and crafts moment! You've inspired me on my next costume idea.

I am almost halfway through making mine after this video just got to spray paint it and jazz it up :) please PLEASE make more I'm a photographer and like to make my own props but don't often know how . The ONLY downside and may be me but I found the headbands....you have to stretch quite a bit and I ended up having to crease the cardboard in order to open the headband to stick it on my head.. not sure if that's just me lol may be I have a massive head xx

Nice work, love the staggering for depth! Like yourself I find that creating on the fly is easier for me then planning ahead. I feel when you plan, you limit your crafts/designs potential....if that makes sense? lol Either way love the video, thanks so much.

I've been looking into tutorials for the bigger wire-framed layered kinds of headdresses, but I think that I will use your tutorial for the couple of spare headbands I have chillin' in my craft cubby. I do a lot of work with perler beads and recently ordered some stems with no idea what to do with them. Now I know! :D

I have been trying to figure out how to make a crown for my daughter's Halloween costume. She is going to be a "Celestial Queen", and I was kind of basing her outfit on Hedy Lamarr from Ziegfeld Girl, but could not for the life of me figure out how to make her head piece. This will definitely be the best and easiest way, so thank you for this tutorial. I will make sure to tag you on Instagram once I make it so you can see how it turned out!

Holy crap that's awesome and a lot easier than I thought it was from first appearances! :) My only experience with making headpieces to date, was a french hood for a tudor costume many many years ago. The base was one of those plastic sun visors from the craft store. =)
