There's a great video here on youtube debunking rosemary oil's efficacy on stimulating hair growth by showing how poorly done and fishy the singular study that exists that makes these claims is. edit: found it, it's by the channel Lab Muffin Beautfy Science ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SW2NCv_vF2Q.htmlsi=XKtm67K1djh-kRVy

So, from a licensed hairdressers knowledge on how hair actually grows, there is nothing that you can apply to the hair externally to cause it to grow, because once hair has grown past/outside the scalp, it's considered dead. There is a tiny vein under each hair follicel inside the scalp, called the papilla, that feeds the hair and causes it to grow. If anything, a good healthy diet and vitamins are the only thing that can possibly help with hair growth, and maybe massaging your scalp😊
@sillililli01
@sillililli01 3 месяца назад
@@ren3171 It has worked for many, including me. Perhaps it's the massage you give your scalp, with the oil of your choice, that brings blood flow to the scalp that makes the difference.

I believe there is nothing better for our skin and hair than tallow. Just love it and I have a complete line of beef and bison tallow products from lip balms to shampoo shaving soaps and creams. It’s just sad that many people don’t know how similar tallow is to our natural skin sebum and how easy the body absorbs it. Thank you for the video. Love your baby.

I don't want to ruffle any feathers, but will you please share the name of your company so that I might find it online to check out what you offer? Would she want you to continue? Perhaps do it as a sideline or just in remembrance of her? Find a name for your soap bar that epitomizes her, you could even use her name. What was her favorite color? Could you use natural dies like beetroot or turmeric to add to the soap bars? I lost my brother in December and he was buried on 28 Dec on his 50th birthday. We should cherish everything about those gone too soon and find ways to remember them always.

I once heard that pH is affected by baking soda and vinegar, so many people have to switch out to other methods after a while because their oil production increases or scalp becomes flaky. This happened to me with vinegar rinses every 3 days. My scalp just produced non itchy flaking.

I do love it especially for my hair! No need for conditioner 💯🤩 The only thing I tweaked was.... I cut the amount of olive oil in half and use shea butter for the other half. I really wanted a shea butter in my soap. And it's still turned out perfectly 😊

The Wife (capital T, capital W) and I were on the North Shore of Oahu about 10 years ago. Took a trip to the North Shore Soap Factory in Waialua. That visit stuck in my mind and shortly after getting home I started wondering what it would take to make my own soap. Turns out there is a soap supply company a few miles away in Chandler AZ, run by wonderful people. Been making my own soap for years now and couldn't imagine not using it. Your list of oils is what I use for my standard recipe but my ratios are a little different. A relative asked about a shampoo bar so if you don't mind, I'll try to match your ratios to fit my mold. Thanks and take care of that little cutie in the back-pack.

I also use a recipe for hair with these 4 fats/oils - inspired by the bumblebee apothecary. I add nana mint (moroccan spear mint) and lemon balm essential oil, and also 2 TBS of ghassoul powder and 2 TBS of efficcient microorganisms to 1,5 kg of soap. I heard that some people put EM in their soap and thought I'd experiment with that too. My husband and I both love our hair soap. By the way, the castor oil also increases the foam in soaps that's why it's found in many recipes. Usually only 5%, but for shampoo bars 10% is better to create a good amount of lather. By the way, I render my tallow from fat that butchers give me for free, since fat is viewed as junk today. The easiest way is to cook the fat chunks in water and then blend them once they're soft. Afterwards one can keep them on the stove to simmer for a while so all the fat is extracted, then pour the m through a sieve. The first time, I cut 3 kgs of fat into tiny little pieces which took ages, but one can skip that step by boiling the entire cuts right from the start.

I have been using shampo bars for a long time, years my hair is very long and healthy. I've made soap many times too but I have never tried making my own shampoo bars, the recipes I've seen in the past call for so many ingredients that I don't want to use or would be hard to find. I love this simple basic recipe, the soap I have made in the past using tallow lasts a long time too so I think these 8 bars will allow me to give plenty away. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

This is great. You did a wonderful job explaining everything. I will try this recipe. I do have a few questions. How long would you say one bar lasts? Do you shampoo daily? Did you use a specific hair detox recipe when you first started? About how many times does it take to detox your hair before using the shampoo bar? Thank you for making this video! I use tallow to make a face moisturizer.

This 3-4 months for our family but we are more in the shower 1-2 times a week camp so that helps stretch it out! I didn’t do a detox before because it had been a few years since using commercial products on my hair when I started using the shampoo bar but I think when I initially made the switch to natural shampoos my hair could have benefited from a detox! Here’s a video to check out on detoxing hair ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R90l_cGxegM.htmlsi=TI-eYbeDg8Q60vEE

That is an enormous amount of lye. It only takes 117 grams of lye for a block that size. I have made tons of soap. Also the lye is chemically mixing with that plastic jug you are using, that's why you are supposed to use unbreakable glass like pyrex to mix it in. Your hair looks great. I can't wait to try this.

I've been making this exact soap bar for years. The only problem I've encountered is the plumbing bills. It clogs drains after a while and they have to be rotorootered every so often. In the summertime, I've been shampooing outside in the yard and the plumbing bills have gone down a bit with less need to call the plumber.

I can not explain it but even my toilet drain pipe below the floor develops a thick gelatinous film. It actually causes failure to flush events to become more and more frequent. Eventually the toilet has to come off and it has to be cleaned up. Perhaps it is alive or something. Maybe we are feeding a mysterious sewer slime colony with all this healthy stuff.

Did you know that lye was originally made from wood ash. You would need a very clean fire hearth and very pure and good wood. But, then the ash is put in water and the alkaline lye is created. Good wood must have all kinds of mineral and trace element properties that are good for hair and scalp too? This wood ash solution would work with pig fat too. But, thank you for teaching us that beef fat is so good because previously I had only heard of pig fat and lye for making lovely soap for hair and body.

From my understanding during the saponification process, the fat/lye reaction changes it from being a fat or grease to soap. Maybe someone has some better science to chime in with here :). From our experience of using this bar for several years, we've never had any drain issues!

I already make my own soap. Just as a little tip, I keep track of the temperature of the lye water(we also mix it outside!) And the temperature of the melted oils (for my present recipe) and your lovely tallow and oils. When they both are about 120° then I pour in the lye water slowly, not splashing, and mix it with the immersion blender. I have been doing this for over seven years and what it does is helps the soap saponify much quicker. I'm older and it's easier for me. Then I pour it all into silicone soap molds, not the bar mold. But I find most people use your mold. It's just a preference for my husband and myself. I will definitely try your recipe as my own soap is too heavy for hair washing. Live the addition of Castor Oil. I use the exact same Castor Oil on my face and body (even though it is quite sticky) a few times per week. I stay in the bathroom to let it dry a little and absorb into the skin. As I am older, the baking soda for my hair is too caustic on my skin. I do use a small amount of baking soda added to my washing, but too much makes both my husband's and my own skin get itchy. Everyone has to figure this out for themselves. Thank you so much for your lively recipe and video! Will be watching more from you😂❤

A friend gave me some organic saponified coconut shampoo and that was probably the nicest shampoo I ever used, however I stopped using shampoo entirely about a decade ago and my scalp and hair are both happier for it. It used to stop mid-back whether I trimmed it or not even when I never dyed it, and now I can touch my waistband with it despite regular trims and occasional blue or purple highlights, major reduction in split ends, dandruff and itchiness since I just do a scalp scrub under the shower once a week at the most. In the winter I still sometimes use commercial conditioner on the hair shaft but not the scalp (I still have leftovers from when I quit washing every other day, plus I use the stuff that comes in the box with my hair dye) or sometimes put a bit of cooking oil on the end of my braid when it gets dry in winter. My scalp does not want product, nor does it want natural oils stripped away. I know it's not the solution for everyone, but it seems to be the solution for me right now. I plan to get into soapmaking myself in the not too distant future so thanks for a great video. Only thing I'd be doing differently is putting on gloves and glasses as soon as I open the lye container and a face shield and/or respirator when I mix the lye with the water, stanadard laboratory procedures.
