Been Djing for a few years now. I know what its like being a beginner and you do an amazing job breaking everything down. Keep doing what your doing man! I will continue to support. Keep ‘em coming champ!!!
The cue points are such a game changer. I’ve been phrasing off feel and off of knowing the song but knowing when to cue the next with a visual point on the track adds so much ease into mixing. Def going to be layering my tracks with cue points now. Then it can make room to transition with filters and effects. Big thanks for this
I’m really impressed on how well you explain what you’re doing and that’s really important, I’ve been back a little more than a year since my vinyl days in the 80’s and this is by far one of the best videos I’ve encountered. Thanks Zeeshan!
You are the best!!! I was starting to be loose interest because i wasn't making progress until I found your videos. So much better than the other ones on the same subject! I can't thank you enough💪💯
Also, my struggle is choosing the right part or phrase of the song to transition out of and into the next song. I always fall into the trap of choosing the busiest phrases for transition (with vocals even!), in an attempt to maintain the energy of the mix... Then it just sounds messy. I need to be more strategic on where to place the que points. Will practice. Thank you🙏
You need to know your music😂. Hours and hours of listening. You can't just plug, play and be a dj. Even before the technical part , again , you need to know your music. You will remember each song and when-where is good the blend another one in.
32 beats/ 8bars before the end of the intro 32 beats/ 8bars before the end of the chorus 32 beats/ 8bars before the end of the outro those are good cue points and it helped me quickly pick up on when and where to transition into the next song.
I love the way you explain things. I already knew a lot of this stuff but not to this depth or level and I'm glad I uncovered your channel. You really explain it in such detail that is so helpful, thank you!
This video has been so helpful for phrasing and transitioning, just learning the pattern of swapping the base and EQ and practicing a bunch. I feel like I am improving! This may be a stupid question, but at the 11 minute mark I saw you were beat matching two songs that have different BPM’s and wondering how you do that?
Can you put together big compilations of different types of transitions? Like just clip the transition out of dozens of dj sets to show many examples of each type of transition?
Get good at dropping in on the 1s and you’ll never run into this issue again. Not talking about setting custom cues, but learning muscle memory on your platters with your hands.
