Hey Harry great video, will MS offer anything around licensing within DMG deployments do you know? So if a DMG app requires a license key to use the software?
Hi Ali, It's possible now. Select the "Line-of-business" type when creating App in Intune and just upload the .pkg file. You don't have to use the wrapping tool anymore to create the .intunemac files. Have a nice day
great informative video. if an .dmg app requires to input license key and some install parameters during installation, i guess the best way is still to use shell scripts in mac policies?
Hey Jeffrey, This is a great question. So I can send this feedback to the team what applications are you looking to deploy with licensing requirements?
@@HarryLowtonIT ah yes I am also having this issue where certain dmg apps that requires a license key or installation parameters get stuck in the deployment process. Any chance you can do a video on how to tackle this issue? I need to install a cyber security agent that requires to input a license key. Thanks!
@@alvinsiu3586 Hello Harry, I managed to deploy the Mac application with the license key in InTune. I used the Line-of-business type and the trick was to named the .pkg file the same as the license key so it looks like this: 1234-1234.pkg. It's probably configured by the developers like this since it was in the manual for the silent installation of the app. The steps were used to manually install on the machine but it works the same with Intune Apps installations. Not sure if this is any help but I just wanted to share... Have a nice day
Hello Harry, I'm also encountering a similar issue with Adobe Reader. Could you please assist us? I have reviewed the error message, which indicates that we need to install IntuneMDMagent using a shell script. However, I'm unsure about the process. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! How do we add permissions to the app that is deployed? For example, we have OpenVPN app that needs certain permissions to part of the OS but I cannot find a way to configure that with InTune.
I'm trying to install Adobe Reader using this method and I'm getting an error The DMG file doesn't contain any supported app. It must contain at least one .app file. (0x87D3013C), any suggestion?
