All my links in one place linktr.ee/came... Today i'm making these easy Ticket Belly Bands or Bookmarks.
They are very easy and so much fun to make.
All you need are a few book pages, glue of your choice and you're good to go. Everything else i used is optional. Althouth i do really like the napkin decoupage ones and who doesn't love the odd butterfly here and there😁
The idea came from a channel i hadn't heard of before which one of my lovely subscribers, Sandra, sent me a link to, ‪@OfficialHeatherWilkerson‬ so this is my take on her fabulous idea.

For a Good Gluing surface....try a Cereal Box Liners. I keep a few folded up aside for gluing, painting, or something that is damp and needs pressing...keeps it from stickin to my "Press"...a.k.a. some Heavy Books on top of a small piece of marble. wrap in the waxy liner and put it in Your OWN "press".

Julie I love listening to all of your comments you make as you’re teaching us. You’re things always turn out gorgeous. I would be cold at your house. I live in Michigan in the USA, my husband turns the heat down to 66 at night, I freeze. Your channel is the highlight of my day. Crack on.🤓👍😁

Thanks Ruth😊 Oh you would freeze here by the end of the year, our energy bills just increased by 54% and are set to increase as much again in October😲 I'm so lucky to rent a modern well insulated home. If it goes up again I'll consider moving south for the winter😂🤗💜

I love it when Gertrude pipes up and shares some of her wisdom! I love puzzle books but can’t do the cryptic ones like you Brits do… My late husband got me into them and I’m glad he did. I quite enjoy doing regular crossword puzzles. Actually… he passed away 9 years ago as of today… it’s amazing how time passes. And I’m still on my own. Pretty sure I won’t find anyone as good… Too old to train a new one!!!! Lol…

Thank you for sharing yourself with the rest of us! 😁 We are blessed to have you! 🙏💝💕😁 Green Shield stamps - OMG! Flashback!! 🤪 I think I am a similar age to you!! 😁 They were a Co-op shop thing. I think you collected the stamps which you exchanged for tokens which my mum got in a little handmade paper cone made out of old newspaper!! Then you could exchange them for goods, food etc. I don’t remember why you need stamps *and* tokens?! 🤔🙃 But yes, I think you are right about it being one of the first ‘loyalty’ programmes in U.K. shops! 😆

You just reminded me to Google Green shield stamps. They were going til 1991. I was born in 1969 and remember them hanging around the house. Wish I'd saved some 🧐 But then the angry baboons might have gotten hold of them😏🤗💜

They were little green, plastic rounds made to look like fake coins and you could ‘spend’ them on what you wanted! 😂 Yes - we are a similar age! Only a couple of years between us. Love this bookmark, bellyband idea. Always looking for things to make for chlldren and know a bunch that will love this.Any ideas to decorate for kids. Love your Yorkshire accent, too.

Green Shield stamps! What a memory from my past...You would collect them in a book (like a modern loyalty card) then redeem for the books worth. My dad collected them and got himself a push mower(which I painted and have in my garden as a memory to my dad)

Very fun idea! Who says tickets have to be the same size?! My kids came home from school with this rhyme: “if at first you don’t fricassee, fry, fry a hen!” I bet your girls are going to say, “what, huh?” Haha, if you laugh just a little, I’ll be happy! Thank you, Julie for another great video & waffle! Erica❤I have turned my heat down to 65, 24/7!! Everything is so expensive! I’m freezing, but my son is loving it, he has a hard time with eczema & the dry heat makes him very uncomfortable. So I’m saving money & he’s not scratching!!😂

I love your interpretation of these Julie, you could really go to town, stamping with numbers and words. Sew across the perforated line without thread to make holes so they look like ‘real’ tickets. I’m going to have to have a play with these myself. I agree that the file folder would have made them too thick to be practical. Yours are beautiful! Thank you for doing this demonstration! Hi Julie. Thank you for sharing. That was lovely to watch and interesting. I was thinking of using a master board and running rows of stitching with my unthreaded needle to make the perforation holes then slicing the paper to the required width and punching the half holes in the 'tickets' at the perforation lines as another way of making the faux tickets also. Just a thought. I got the threadless sewing idea from another crafter who used it to make sheets of faux stamps. I hope you don't mind my sticking my bib in with my thoughts. What you made was absolutely lovely and I enjoyed watching you make the belly bands. I love the sound of you chuckling. Such a happy sound. I'm of now. Blessings and hugs. 🥰🤗💙

Your tickets are quite beautiful! You could use a sewing tool, a tracing wheel to make perforations between your tickets. I particularly love the napkin over book page. TFS!

I have a package of tracing paper for sewing with a tracing wheel that was included. Maybe you could use the tracing wheel across the belly band where you have the little clipped areas and it would look more like a ticket without bending the band. Just a thought. Love! The Matte Mediums at times makes it feel like it has subtle Leathery feel. Funny Putty Story. I just purchased a Heat Gun…much needed.

I love you showing ways to make the ephemera so it's thinner and add less bulk! I have had too many journals end up with thick gator mouth after I add my ephemera. So I am changing my strategy to not sew in the signatures till after but don't want to cut back on all the great ephemera pieces. So also using ways to keep the ephemera thinner but not lose sturdiness if you know what I mean! So please keep your great ideas coming as they are much appreciated!

Yes i know exactly what you mean Sandra. I tend to like to make things that will be permanently fixed to a page a little thinner and the bulkier ephemera pieces i like to clip in so they can be removed and used in other journals or stand alone pieces.😊🤗💜

Love these tickets, Julie 💕 I haven't watched Heather's vid, so I may be speaking out of turn, but I believe she may have used a Stabilo Film and Glass pencil. You can get them in black or Brown. Once your image is down you outline with the pencil and then lightly go over with a water brush....really makes it pop. Easier than inking around such a tiny piece 👍 Food for thought 😘 Blessings~~~

When I do any glueing with napkins I will use my glue stick on smaller projects like what your doing here.

Hi Dorothy, yes I've had others say that's a great way to do it, I must remember to try it. I think I'm traumatised from the mess I've made of larger areas with my glue stick😅🤗💜

Hellooo! I've just acquired a beautiful sheet of rice paper. My first experience of decoupage is with this lovely make. Is there anything I should know about using rice paper in this way that's different to using napkins? Thank you in advance, Julie x
