Leah demonstrates just how easy it is to fix a leaky air line/hose on your air compressor. There is a quick fix for making the repair. A leaky rubber washer inside the coupler is often the culprit. There is a fast, easy solution and Seejanedrill shows you how.

@@benbarker8154 no problem. I've never done it in this application But if you have some hose laying around, its worth a try. You might want to stick a bolt or a dowel in the hose to back it up so you get a square cut

Cool tip. I was wondering how they got that spring check in there. Ive got a bunch without the check valve in them I like to streamline them by cutting down all their pieces, then use them for quick release dog leashes, key rings, etc. I wanted to make check valves for them but nothing has been holding the pressure for very long. Anyway... Just a quick headsup in case you're wondering and because I can't help it. Lol but the name of that style of wrench is called an automotive wrench or the slang term is F-wrench for obvious reasons. Also the direction you had the vice-grips facing when tightening was technically backwards. Yes, it obviously worked but if you had to apply a lot of torque, they're more likely going to slip off like that. The force should be like when using channel locks, push down towards bottom jaw. So when tightening in that scenario. Jaw should have been facing up, not down like it was. I don't mean to tell you how to operate. Im just saying , as a pro, (ask any journeyman in any mechanical trade) ...{actually, I don't know how to say it without sounding like an @$$-o so ill let you full in the blank} it makes you look like a ________ when you operate them like that. ..and I know you're not a ________. ...unless by ________, you mean _______. Edit: lol

Couple of things. Miss leading title, This video has nothing to do with fixing leaky air tools, and should be called "Easy fix for air hose couplings". That is not a "washer", It's a Gasket, no wonder your having a hard time finding them. Those are Locking Pliers, not a Wrench.

Leah, I don't think the problem is with my hose it's the built-in nitto connector on a couple cheap tools i bought. Same hose works great on higher quality nail guns. Worst offender is a cheap little trigger air blower, and real cheap finish nailer i got at Aldi...the tools work ok, but just bleeding air. Is there some tip??? thinking plumbers tape just to get a tighter fit??? Will give it a go...
