My way of drinking tea in Gong Fu brewing style on daily basis.
Parameters I used for brewing Sheng Pu Erh:
Leaf to water ratio: about 5g/100ml
Water temperature: 95-100'C
Infusion time: 10-20 seconds
Numbers of infusions: more than 10
Music: Chances by Silent Partner (RU-vid Audio Library)

Thanks for the info! appreciate the content, not sure why people are so dickish in the comment section. But I love the fact that you are a (Slavic Woman?) using English to teach a Chinese American guy like me how to make Gong Fu tea, what a world we live in! :D

I've never heard of having a "teapet". He's a cute little decoration to your setup. Your method feels a lot more relaxing than some Gong Fu methods I've seen with like 80 pieces and 600 steps.

Thank you for this video! I've been curious about trying the gongfu method since I've only ever used Western style brewing, but I've felt intimidated by all the specialized equipment and ceremony involved! This way is very approachable and I appreciate that you put emphasis on enjoying tea as long as it tastes good, because that's really what it's all about! I think too many people are hung up on the "correct" way that they forget it's ultimately supposed to be for enjoyment's sake.

Gong Fu Cha is not about fancy tools. You can brew in anything. Just try to find something small to keep good leaf to water ratio - can be small cup, bowl, even glass jar. Follow the steps and you will see the difference in tea taste 🍵😊

Greeting ....nothing to add except when you add water for the first time to the pot try to add it at 70-60 degrees to avoid thermal shock when you heat your pot. Higher temperature such as 100 C will be a lot.

May I suggest turning down your BGM. One of the most pleasant and relaxing aspects is to hear the sounds of the water bubbling, the leaves crackling, etc. The sounds made during the course of the gong fu ceremony are the only BGM you need.

In gong fu tea, one often starts with a short "wash" of the leaves to rinse of tea dust and to wake them up before doing the actual steepings (which can be 10 or even 20 ones with certain teas). For some teas however you can skip the wash. The tea pet mostly gets the wash. So it is a win-win 😊

@@SomeoneVx I don't blame her. (She actually remembered whereas others would not have cared.) At least she pays attention to the small details that make a big difference in the enjoyment; not all Yixing pots are the same. I remember having a Yokkaichi Banko kyūsu made by an artist known as _Shōryū_ (昇龍, "ascending dragon") and another kyūsu (can't remember whether it was a purple clay or red clay one) made by _Kōten_ (恒天, "eternal heavens"). I have yet to purchase any Yixing pots. These days I tend to use gaiwan to brew green tea, which is what I usually drink. I think that for pu-erh, black, and dark oolong teas clay teapots are best since they retain heat well.

what the function of monckey ?
@Mindful_TEA_Break
@Mindful_TEA_Break 2 года назад
Monkey is a "tea pet" it is completely optional. It is made from clay and over time gets very nice patina look from all the tea pour on it. If it comes to function it is for decoration, aesthetics, sort of companion and also keeps you practicing generosity when you offer your tea pet some tea. It's also just fun way to dispose of your water, rinse and tea left overs that for example already cool down too much.

why are the drinking cups so tiny
@Mindful_TEA_Break
@Mindful_TEA_Break 4 года назад
That is how it's traditionally used. Cups can be a bit bigger but can be even smaller. If you drink tea Gong Fu way you are re-infusing same tea leaves many time so you drink a lot of small cups. You would probably not be able to drink ten big cups but small cups you drink easily. This cup is 40ml so if I infuse tea five times and drink two cups from each infusion it is ten small cups in total which gives 400ml of tea. Not small amount at all. Drinking from small cup means drinking best quality fast, right after it was infused. It will not get cold. You can make a break between infusions whenever you want. I highly recommend trying tea this way 😊

@Mindful_TEA_Break
@Mindful_TEA_Break 3 года назад
I honestly don't understand how someone can go around commenting things are "fake". It is a real actual clay tea pot - not a plastic toy, right? Video is not about how amazing or expensive this tea pot is or about the box that I take it out from ...and just so you know it is not an original box of that tea pot either - just a box I transported it in. It is not the most expensive tea pot you could get and not from most known and awarded pottery artist but it is more than good enough for my humble needs.
