great video as always! i've been using this workflow in the last few months, just adding a few tips: - 4:03 you can also select the two characters and use Ctrl + L to ''link materials'' and save some time - 18:25 if the textures doesn`t show up in your model you can also use the node wrangler addon in the shader view and ''add principled setup'' to select all of your marvelous textures with one click - also to anyone who have scale problems with the model, experiment with the different scale options in the marvelous import section, sometimes the ''auto-scale'' works great too
If you run into an issue where your alembic file is importing into Marvelous sideways - select armature and mesh in object mode, go to object tab, apply , rotation. Re export as alembic and it will be correct
I have problem importing the alembic file to clo 3d the Caracter position is doomed and i can't fix it to start adding my garments the character is laying on his back please help me
Sorry man when at the end I export garments to Blender they don't fit well with the body mesh and they intersect with it when the animation starts... I tryied to subdivide and solidify but still doesn't work...any suggestions?
Hey Max! Thanks a lot for the tutorial, it's really helpful. I was abl to do everything up to the point where you import OBJ back into blender. When I use Mesh Cache modifier and choose my MDD file, the mesh becomes very "torn". It retains the basic shape, but it seems as if vertices are strecthed in a really ugly way. What could cause this?
so since 16 hours im trying to recreate this video and im always having some issues. when im rendering the animation for the clothes I see some weird behavior of the clothes. It stretches and bugs really crazy and doesn't look realistic at all. I need some help asap
Hi Max, I finally managed to import the alembic file into CLO but when I play the animation, the avatar disappears. Don´t know why I tried with FBX format too, but the shoes don´t move with the avatar, they just keep in there place. How did you solve this issues? Can you help me, please?
omg im just about to finish the tutotial, and when i apply my garments animated in blender, they are slightly smaller than the model and clips within that model. Anybody knows why? i am working from the beginning with this original model...
It depends what your end goal is. Marvellous Designer is aimed at digital creators whereas CLO3D is a fashion design software. They're both essentially the same software by the same developer however Marvelous Designer is much simpler and has fewer functions, and CLO3D has a lot more functions that would help you in design and creating 3D prototypes for physical garments & clothing. Everything you can do in Marvelous you can do in CLO, but not everything in CLO is available in Marvelous
when i import the alembic file, the avatar is way too small and i'm not allowed to scale it, how o i fix this??? it feels like i'm the only one having this issue. I even applied scale in blender
@@MaxNovakTutorials when i do clear transform my character looks at the ground and then messes up the keyframes for my animation that i moved to keyframe 25
What's up boss, I'm trying to work on this right now with the same free bubble coat and joggers but on a different mannequin. I cant seem to get the bubble coat and joggers to simulate well with characters walk cycle. The joggers stretch over the foot and the straps and pockets move all over the place. Do you have any suggestion on how to fix this? I've tried adjusting the Particle distance in the Simulation properties but that still hasn't made it smooth enough
