Thank you very Much. You are really fantastic. You give me the power to do what i wanted 40 years ago .This song is fascinating me since i have discovered Bob Dylan in the beginning of seventies. There were no internet and smartphones but a crazy love of music especially american folksong. Since this period i have learnt many songs from Leonard Cohen but it was impossible to get a songbook of Bob Dylan with chords and tablatures. Now i am sixty but my heart is still beating for this music. Thank you for your generosity and for giving me a second Life.
You are amazing! Not only you can play guitar great but your singing is awesome too! I enjoy your lessons so much! Thanks for doing what you do! From a music lover in France. Cheers!
So glad to hear from another friend from France. My wife and I are so excited to visit Paris in October. Do you have any suggestion on how I can best spend my time?
+swiftlessons Honnestly you cant be bored in Paris... It is just depending on your tastes... You can choose the smile of Mona lisa in the "Louvres", or the creepy " Catacombes"....etc..... But of course you have to see the Eiffel tower and to walk with your wife on the " Champs Elysées".... Trust me you will not be bored a second...😎
Depends on what you like and how long you'll stay. Of course, there are all the famous monuments and museums but don't forget parts of the city such as Saint Germain des Prés or Montmartre. And while you're there, why not going to London as well? It's only two hours away by train. I'd love to meet you there and and thank you in person for everything you do.
lol I was looking at the printed Tabs only yesterday. And I 'd printed them back in August 2016.Funny that RU-vid suggested this vi were reading my mind..
hey swift man! Your lessons are really cool. Could you do a lesson on descending basslines? Like in stairway to heaven. How to approach it and stuff. Would be very useful.
I love your tutorials. I've learned to play Sublime's What I Got and Jimi Hendrix's Along the Watchtower. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial of Jason Mraz' song Be Honest. It uses a lot of the neck, and that's what I want to learn to play more, instead of just using a Capo. If so, thank you so much! 😊✌
Please do Nothing Can Change This Love by Sam Cooke. I been dying to play thay song correctly. With your help, hopefully i can. Looking foward for the lesson. Much love
Hi Rob, amazing lesson, I have been watching your lessons since few weeks now, you are covering some beautiful classics, thanks😊you sing so well, have a fantastic tone👌👏🏽😊
I love your channel.. I practice to it a lot. I was wondering if anyone out there on youtube can help me find a tutorial/guitar lesson& chords w/ maybe vocal melody for Joan Baez's version of the song.. I found it once but didn't save the link. The version I'm looking for was on the "Forest Gump" soundtrack as well a Baez's LP "From Every Stage." It's play live I just can't figure with it's capo'd and she adds a lot more chords than the G-C-D of Dylan's or the G-A-D version of Peter, Paul and Mary. Also her strumming his spectacular in her version. I wanted trying covering her version as I have a higher vocal range. If anyone could help me I'd be very grateful! I love Dylan's guitar playing. I wannna master some of his clawhammer, flat and travis fingerpicking techniques. I also wanna learn how to do the Woody Guthrie stuff that influenced him into singer-songwriting esp. the driving acoustic rhythm & strumming techniques as sell as the crosspicking, inverted chords and playing harmonica with guitar. Thanks again to anyone who can help point me into the right direction. I really wish they would do a Dylan Masterclas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can make a tutorial on SOAD-Chop Suey.I think It is a great song, and has really interesting melody.I'm a Bob Dylan fan, great song, thanks for lesson))
I can't find the tabs and chord sheet for this video, my son is doing this song for a school project and would love to learn with him. plus.love your.pick in song.plz help
So cool your son is getting this one down, let me know if you have questions. Better to message me direct through Patreon, as I tend to respond quicker. Thanks so much. -Rob
swiftlessons it is cool! But no lie I get a little jealous that he picks things up so fast. when I was a kid learning there was no RU-vid. your videos have helped is so much, and we found something we can do together so thanks again
I can relate Ginny, I really wish there were more resources for me too... Kids are fast learners, especially if they have the right attitude and believe in themselves.
question:? love your tutorials, but when you "walk down" doesn't that throw off the timing of the chord. It sounds great ,but I am just confused of the counting of the c chord...it lasts much longer than the g? maybe a stupid question?
It doesn't change the timing because the notes in the walkdown are all in the key of G, you're basically replacing the first measure of Gmaj with the walkdown. Essentially, the walking line is Gmaj.
I'm trying to find a video of someone playing Sam Cooke's "Good Times" Guitar chords. I can't even find a Karaoke version anywhere. Could someone help?
Dude you are awesome! Great Video. I learned it so fast. Really great Job. Is there any way to donate? Cause i dont reall need that patreon sub, but i want to reward you for your great Work. Let me know.
I'm not sure how the RU-vid donation system works. But you would be much better off donating at Patreon.com/swiftlessons where I can hook you up with tons of awesome resources!
There are live versions where Dylan sings high, and plays without the capo. In the recorded version, he sings low, and raises the key of the guitar part using a capo on the 7th fret. Dylan is anything but consistent when it comes to his approach.
My guitar playing skills have improved but my voice always sucks thats why I only learn fingerstyle, solos etc. Any honest tips please? I would love and appreciate if anyone helped me out
Just keep singing, practice practice practice. So long as you’re not wearing your voice out. Make sure you’re breathing from your stomach using your diaphragm and don’t get discouraged !
cool lesson ! those melody lines are a great eye opener for relatively new players specially when you back it up with some theories on why and how it is done , 5 star dude .
Hi there. I am from Bangladesh and regularly listen to your lessons and I don't have any words to give u thanks. Very much greatful to u. I would be very glad if you give guitar lessons on the song Angel by Elvis Presley and Kathy's song by Paul Simon. Thank u very much again for Ur continuous support for us. Have a good day
Rob, thanks for all of your great lessons. At 3:25 you state that sometimes Bob played this without a capo and would just sing higher. Is that correct? I would think you would have to sing lower without the capo. Please explain.
I wanna learn any of Dylan's early folk / blues finger picking stuff....fixin to die, roll on John, lonesome whistle blows, see that my grave is kept clean etc. Check out the Cynthia Gooding radio interview on RU-vid...I love it but am having trouble finding instruction on how to play...
Since you have asked for song request for lessons, could you pls teach 'Scars on this Guitar'-Bon Jovi, More than I can say-Leo Sayer, Sovereign Cafe -Keane, thanks a ton😊
