What's your thoughts on those eco pur filters? I know you're a master Spa dealer but is it really necessary to use those orange inserts on the eco pur filter? Just seems gimmicky to me, but what the heck do I know? Also, if you don't use your hot tub for a week or so and don't remember to add chlorine granules is it a big deal to add them once you use the hot tub again? Or do you need to shock it? Thanks Chris!

I was reading about Master Spa’s EcoPur Charge water purification system. Are you a fan of this? If yes, are any product recommendations in this video not applicable to EcoPur Charge? Thanks!

Thanks for the info Chris. I had an order a few weeks ago for a Artic spa with all that spa boy $2k extra. Seen all your videos and was shocked at all the info/what to look for in a good tub. Well I took that new knowledge and went back to the Artic Spa showroom, looked under the hood, seen the unclamped hoses and the little insulation it had. Crazy. So I found myself the next day over at the Master Spa dealer close to Enfield, NS ;) and voila, a good solid well built Legend LSX 800 is coming this June. Super excited. Thanks for all your videos. No I won’t go with the salt water system....I’ve found a solid dealer that I can trust now.

I have a swim spa. 8800 litre. We keep it at 88 to 98. How much would we need for this and do we just use oxygen (mineral spa shock) or use bromine tablets? I’m looking forward to trying spa marvel but wanting to learn everything first.
@ChrisWheatley
@ChrisWheatley 3 года назад
You would need one bottle a week, or you could use aquafinesse swim spa kit which works very similarly except you add a tablet every week. www.hottubuniversity.com/spamarvel

Any Chem strips that give you good readings at the .5 to 1 ppm level chlorine? All the ones I try don't really change color at all until 3ppm
@ChrisWheatley
@ChrisWheatley 3 года назад
not really :-( i just go by dosing level if you know you added it and yer water is clean and clear and smells good its a good sign :-) I rarely use strips anymore, I just know my tubs pattern is 2 caps of alka+ 1/2 cap of pH down and a tablespoon of chlor every 3 days...

I ended up getting a bottle of spa marvel it works really well I'm impressed. I would like to switch over to tri chlor but am I going to be alright if I keep the floater on the lowest setting?

How do you guys go about shocking if you are using a low setting of trichlor? Do you add ph up after each shock since trichlor is lower ph in general?

Hey Chris,I have an artesian grand bahama elite being delivered next week. I was going to add the spa marvel you mention. Now I am going to use the inline bromine and mineral cartridges. Does the mineral cartridge do the same thing as the spa marvel?
@ChrisWheatley
@ChrisWheatley 3 года назад
No The mineral cartridge is ion and Ion is not good with bromine. The Ion help because it deals with live organics but doe nothing for the Oils, soap, lotions etc thats what spa marvel deals with. I would either do spa marvel with bromine and no ion or if you want to add ion in the mix (it does polish the water and make it sparkly) then I recomend you switch to chlorine...

Thanks for the info. I'll do the online smartchlor and mineral system. How much and often should I add the spa marvel?

Follow the instructions on the bottle. Easy. 1/3 bottle each month or a full bottle every three months.

1. Do something to bring your Alkalinity up. 2. Do something to bring your Alkalinity down. 3. I’m lost thinking about 1,2. 4. Sales pitch 5. Question credibility of channel.
@ChrisWheatley
@ChrisWheatley 3 года назад
Sorry man... Add alkalinity increaser to raise the alkalinity... Then if needed add Ph reducer to bring the pH down Then add chlorine to 3-5ppm por add spa marvel (or aquafinesee, or minerluxe) and add chlorine at around 0.5 ppm Use calcium booster with new water refill to balance hardness into the OK range Use a non chlorine shock every once in a hwile, my rule of thumb is every 4-5 bodies or once a week. its pretty standrad hot water care but if you need help let me know! Happy Hot Tubbing :-)

Are all enzymes created equal? Spa Marvel is $58/bottle which lasts 3 months. I'm looking at Leisure Time enzymes and their 32 oz bottle is $15 and they suggest 2oz weekly for a 500 gallon hot tub, which means I'll get 16 doses (16 weeks) out of the bottle. The Leisure Time Enzymes seem to be a way better deal if they work the same as Spa Marvel. Just curious if you've tried Leisure Time Enzymes before?

@@waterprosurge I would like to know too! We are new hot tub owners. We used Spa Marvel and had to change the water two months later, but that may have been due to the cyanuric acid in the di-chlor building up and making the chlorine ineffective. Very frustrating and confusing! We're still hoping the Spa Marvel will be worthwhile. We used the Spa Marvel cleaner, filter cleaner and a bottle of the Spa Marvel treatment again. This time we are trying Frog @ease for the sanitizing chlorine aspect. That's very expensive too, so I sure hope we get more than two months use out of our water. Our hot tub is the Master Spas San Miguel, so it's only 180 gallons to refill. It's upsetting to have the water go cloudy and gross after using Spa Marvel, di-chlor and plenty of non-chlorine shock. (We keep the Alkalinity and pH in the appropriate ranges too.) I have a cousin who only uses essential oils in his hot tub and always has clear water. I hate soaking in chemicals!
