Gonna be doing mine tomorrow morning. Nice and easy. Was there a torque spec on the sensor or just hand snug? Did this fix your stabilitrak issue? I know the tone ring is sometimes a culprit on the wheel hub as well.
I really enjoy your videos. Ive had this problem with my equinox with abs stabiltrak light come on and I've replaced just about everything except the wheel sensors ..that will be next and the way you showed how simple it should be really helps. Thank you
The sensors themselves aren't difficult to change however, I don't think those are usually the problem. I think I said it in the video, I just bought the sensor basically hoping that was the problem. My problem ended up being the ring on the cv axle that the sensor reads. If you are able to inspect that ring before you buy the sensor, that would be best just to verify. I'm glad you like the videos. I have quite a few videos on the Equinox. if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks again.
Hello I have a 2016 Chevy traverse LT AWD and I can't get my wheel speed sensor out of the dam hole not sure why it's in there so tight 😮. I tried pulling it out with pliers but broke it off inside I had to take off the wheel bearing and I took a punch and punched it out I tried cleaning out the hole best I can I put a new one in but went in very hard some one messed up this hole before I got this vehicle I think. it didn't fix my problem on my car it made it worse. ABS light, brake , service traction control and stability lights are on the dashboard. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated thank you
@dancurrier6421 I don't know where you live but, I wouldn't be surprised if that hole has just rusted and held that sensor in tight from swelling. One thing you could do is get a drill bit about the size of the body of the sensor and run it through the hole it mounts in. Did you happen to inspect the wheel bearing magnetic ring for cracks or missing pieces like mine had?
Great video. We have a 2013 Terrain SLE-1 with the 2.4 ltr I4. I do have a question: When starting I get P0303 and P0203 Codes along with the Stabilitrack Mainenance message. The engine runs like crap and is misfiring on Cylinder #3. If I clear the codes, the engine will run ok with no misfires, but will come back to the same situation within minutes. Do you think these two issues could somehow be interconnected or related in some way? I have the replacement Wheel Speed Sensors but I am disabled and not physically able to do the replacement. I'd like to know your thoughts. Thank you in advance!! Very much appreciated!!
@@toddcanipe1190 based on the limited research that I did in about a minute, I suspect a potentially faulty fuel injector is causing the cylinder 3 misfire. P0303 as you know is the code for cylinder 3 misfire and the p0203 is misfire on cylinder 3 fuel injector. There are many things that can cause the stabilitrak light to come on and I wouldn't rule this issue out as the cause . As for clearing the codes and it running fine until the light comes back on, it sounds like while the car is running a "systems check" everything is fine and then once the check detects something it doesn't like, it causes an issue with the fuel injector. If that is the case I would suspect something other than the fuel injector. At this point I feel compelled to tell you that I am not a professional mechanic, I just to repairs and maintenance on my own vehicles but, I have learned a lot through the years. All that to say, your misfire seems to be fuel related and not a coil or spark plug issue like they typically are. I hope this helps and I would be happy to dig in a little deeper if you would like me to. My suggestion would be to not pay for the installation of the speed sensor yet.
@@DCAutoEnhancement Thank you for your speedy reply. Just to let you know, my Son did change all the spark plugs and coil plug wires about 4 months ago. We did rule this out by switching the plug and wires between #2 and #3 Cylinders with the same affect- No change. With the fuel injectors, we are planning to replace the fuel rail and injectors at some point, but want to replace the speed sensors before all of that work. Interesting that the Ring that the speed sensors read could also be a fail-point as well. I did not think about this, so something else to consider if the replacement wheel speed sensor does not help the situation. I would just take the car to a shop or dealership but I'm 63 and a retired active duty Veteran on disability so money is very tight. I can't afford a new car right now, so trying to make do with what we have. A common story in today's America. Thank you very much again for all your help and if you can think of something else we can consider, please do let me know. May the good Lord keep you and yours and bless you abundantly! I have a 2013 Chevy Equinox. I received all of the same warning lights on my instrument panel. Can I unplug one wheel speed sensor at a time to determine which one may have gone defective? The auto parts store does not come up with an error code.
Will this cause the 4x4 to go off as well as abs and traction control light to go on? Also shaking steering wheel when driving?not sure if it’s this or the wheel bearing assembly
Yes, once I got over 20 or 25 mpg it would say something like all wheel drive disabled. Mine turned out to be a bad wheel bearing. I mention that at the end of this video.
Maybe y’all can help me with mine, I have a wheel speed sensor light on. And when I apply the brakes firmly the ABS Kicks in and it’s like a bang bang. And the brakes are fine it’s only when I slam them. I replaced the wheel speed sensor. Do I need to reset a code perhaps
No but you may have to remove the bearing to remove the piece of the sensor that broke off. I would try to run a screw into the piece that is broken and see if you can get it out that way.
I have 5 faults stored in the EBCM but no ABS light on dash, the light does work though. I'm getting a Service power steering and service stabilitrak with a traction control icon and check engine light on dash. What can cause this issue?
I just had a similar situation the other day and it was a steering wheel sensor. I just plugged in my scanner and reset it and it has been good sense then. I imagine a shop could plug in and point you in a good direction.
Mine went off once I changed the wheel bearing. It has a crack. On the magnetic ring that the speed sensor reads. I think this light will go off on its own once the issue is corrected. But it could be possible to have to have it reset. Where you able to visually locate your issue?
