My local brew club, we decided to pull a beer style out of a hat and brew it. I was making up the list and I was looking at the cali common and I thought yeah, I'll keep that in there, what's the chance that will be the first one we pull out. And of course that was the one we pulled out. 8 People brewed it their own and it was amazing that we had very different beers. Even though we used similar ingredients.

I have the same problem. I'm out of beer and have to wait till my next pay day. Usually I think of clean yeast strains like white labs 001 and safle 5, but 029. Wow. That would give a nice malt backbone. I love that strain for Kolsch and Blonde ale. Anytime I think IPA I think dry and hoppy finish which is perfect.

Just did similar with a bells two hearted clone I fermented in a corny, after adding dry hops added the spunding valve set at 30 psi to stop off gassing of hop aroma and to kickstart carbonation. Cold crashing and watching the spunding valve pressure readout It dropped down to 10psi from 18-2c showing all that co2 getting absorbed. It was grain to glass in 15 days (Could be faster but it took 8 days to hit FG, damn slow but fruity wlp051 yeast) 80% carbonated coming out of cold crash. I reckon with a slightly lower ABV and kveik yeast we could do grain to glass in 7 days

Asking around before I buy the Clawhammer system. Why the much more expensive Clawhammer then the Anvil Foundry with pump? Aside from the ease to which you can replace the heating element and maybe nicer controller (with trying neither I can only go buy my perception on this one) is there really much difference? Is the Clawhammer worth twice the money? Thanks.
