My plan for today... commenting this video! Here some tips or explanations for advanced learners: 0:44 "volevamo sapere" is a false past tense (we actually want to know *now*) but it is a semi-formal way to avoid being too straightforward ("vogliamo sapere" always sounds rude); "vorremmo sapere" with the conditional mood is the formal way to approach unknown people politely. 0:50 "fare un salto" (literally "to do a jump") is an idiom meaning "to move quickly from here to a destination for leisure". 1:21 and 2:48 "niente" as first answer does not mean exactly that she is going to do nothing, but that is a normal idiom used to earn two-three seconds before saying the actual answer. 1:27 "niente di che" (literally "nothing worthy") is a closing tag used to mean that what has just been told is not so relevant. And even in this case it is not always to be taken literally, very often it is said not to appear self-centered in one's speech. 2:08 and 3:33 "diciamo così" like "per così dire" is an idiom meaning that what has just been said is not exactly correct, but the speaker asks the listener for collaboration in understanding: in this example the dog is not a customer, the customer is the dog's owner, but the lady used that word for the dog, realized she was mistaken and corrected herself saying "diciamo così". 3:19 "diciamooo" (literally "let's sayyy") is an opening tag with the same function of "diciamo così" but used at the beginning of an answer to earn time to think and to express a partial difficulty in explaining with the best exact words one's thought. 3:20 "Hobby in particolare no" as a short form of "No, non ho hobby in particolare" is a strange word order typical of the spoken language: it is absolutely wrong in the written form and it should be avoided in any formal speech. 3:27 "mi trovo con gli amici" (literally "I find myself with friends") actually means "I hang out with my friends": it is an informal idiom typical of the spoken language. 4:04 "tipo" (literally "kinda") means "like/for example" and is used to present an example or a specification of something mentioned beforehand vaguely. It is not used in the written language, and it is not common in educated and polite people's speech, on the other hand it is often heard in young people's speech. 4:56 "per cui" (meaning "and, given what I have just said"...) is used many times by the lady in light blue to link logically the sentences. It is a good way to structure one's explanation. Maybe this video does not show "easy Italian" but it is praiseworthy for showing actual real Italian and not a simplified fake language as used in schools.

Thanks I really enjoyed this one. I don't learn Italian now but I used to (3 years) and it is very good to hear the language and read it at the same time. They speak fast so I wouldn't understand everything but it is a lot easier when I read it!

I'm a native Spanish speaker from Puerto Rico, fully bilingual in English which I learned at an early age. I have studied both French (1 year) and Italian (2 years). Listening to Easy French, and Easy Italian, I find understanding French is way more difficult due to the complicated French phonetics/pronunciation.

Eventually we know where Giulia comes from... :-) As I said time ago, to answer some questions, Giulia's accent sounds definitely from Northern Italy... Moreover, I added that, according on my opinion, she doesn't sound from the Region of Venice... So I said that she could be from the Region of Milan. And actually, the distance between Monza and Milan is about 20 Km (13 miles)... So, I was right ! Although someone argued that she could be from Rome... Not at all ! Guys, I am Italian and I can clearly realize the difference between Roman accent, Neapolitan accent, Sardinian accent, Sicilian accent, Milanese accent, etc. I say it again: Giulia's accent is exactly like mine: from Milan !

Dopo, con mia moglie, cercheremo un regalo per il compleanno di mia nonna. Il pomeriggio devo suonare il basso - sto imparando a usare bene gli accordi. La musica era sempre il mio grande passione. I miei hobby sono imparare le lingue. Le considero una passione. È anche mi piace la lettura. Leggo libri sull'avventura e alcuni storie di superazione personale è un po' libri di storia. È il mio programma è diverso ogni settimana ma in generale, vado al lavoro, all'università e anche, quando è possibile, vado in un club di lingue per poter esercitare le lingue che parlo e li, mi trovo con persone che sono anche poliglotti. È il weekend, vado con gli amici, da loro o a volte in un bar o quando non esco con loro, vado ballare salsa. Spero aver scritto tutto bene. Il mio italiano non è buono per la mancanza di prattica. Qui in Messico è difficile in generale di trovare che parlano delle lingue, sopratutto l'italiano. È a proposito, che bella ragazza la presentatrice Giulia. Una raggaza molto bella e carina.
