Don’t you hate surprises. Remodeling around older homes seams to bring them to the table and always complicates the project. With your years of experience and knowledge I’m sure the project will be top notch when it’s completed Cheers guys

Great job. Sometimes with concrete I score it first with a diamond tipped disc cutter. The chisel then gets more effective as guess the chisel force goes sideways where you want it. Dedication on those drains. Look forward to the next one.

It looks like a typical job boys no end of problems. That drain looks like the manhole has been abandoned the benching taken out and a channel put over the main run a typical bodge. Not that will trouble you boys I have every confidence in you in doing a good job. Thanks for a good video best regards Ken

Nothing worse than tight clients who wont pay for a proper Architect, Engineer and working drawings on building notice. I always make sure they have 20% contingency budget in place on top of the quoted price in these instances.

Horrid to say but, not a lot to show for so much effort! What a nightmare that turned out to be - mind you guys, it has to be better than that steel-beamed dungeon you were working in not long ago! Look on the bright side, think of Alton Towers with the family and Al, you can dream of Sweden. It's called life Jim, but not as we know it!

When you think you have a straight forward job it turns out to be a massive can of worms! That manhole looks like to me it's once been active, then there has been change in pipe runs so a new feed pipe has been connected over the top of the dead branched gully. My only concern is that there looks like a small amount of seepage on the broken branch into the manhole that has some displacement up the pipe run. If this is happening you need to get rid of the water somehow?? I am sure you are more than capable of getting this sorted though. I hope that you got on ok at the hospital Steve. 👍👍👍

I'm landscaping only, but doing my own house build at moment and now have respect for you guys. The amount of hidden and unforeseen problems is a nightmare that equals extra cost. It's actually never ending, you can't turn off at all, even lay in bed I'm thinking about the job, it's madness now

Next time u do concrete removal and have a machine there u should get them to bring a pecker out for the dogger as it would have pissed through that concrete and less work for u lads

I once had a building inspection come out and said that it was ok to connect the drainage I was putting in for a new utility room onto a drain run that I had clearly pointed out was running uphill. 🤔🤔🤔 I had put a camera down and the old drain was snaking up and down some sections were over half full of silt. I showed this to both the property owners, builders whom I was putting the drain in and the building inspector. I got a phone call the following day from the building inspection and said that he wanted the full 34m drain run replacing to the main sewer connection with a Windsor Trap. Now that job cost a small fortune in materials, the joke was the building inspector that first said that the drain was fine then insisted that the new drain run had to have 100mm pea gravel below, 100mm pea gravel on top (of which is what I always do, although deeper the better on top) and then a further 150mm concrete on top of that. I think that he was getting awkward has didn't like to admit he was wrong about the previous drain. I was lucky due to the fall on the long back garden to get the required depth.
