Easy job....UK to Bordeaux and back home 

hi Ian when i have seen Almelo,i have thinking at you....-)) and there are some pics that you must recognize yes on the long trips it is often that i am just under of just over the driving time....at the begin of the digital tacho we had a lot of problem with that but now the police understand that it sometime hard to finish just under the 9 or 10 hour drive....last week ,i was looking for a parking on a motorway that i had never used...10hour 04 min ....10h h but 04min to find a room and park my lorry in a tiny place. The B.Sugar are in the norfolk and cambs (i think that you call this part of England ;Anglia)...now with the new contracts ,we are always there or in London to reload Monday i deliver the tagers city and after i go to wash in London Dagenham (tuesday because monday is a bank holiday) and after i have to go overthere to reload.....you see the detour,just because there are no approved tankcleaning in the Norfolk Food bulk transport becomes very special....the customers are too demanding.....for exemple to load a sugar bulker we must put 25 seals plus the TIR cable on the tank after the taank wash to drive to the load place...and after loading they change all the seals......it is the reason why that sometime we have so many" empty" kms Thanks for you comment ,have a good week Ian See you Pat

7784Patrick Hi Pat, you`re welcome,, thanks for your reply, i hope so, i do see Sitra trucks quite often, the last one was 533 pulling a tanker south on the M5 in Devon last Sunday,,, and a few times on the M4 where i live in Newport South Wales,, and it would be nice to meet the man that almost single handedly inspired me back into driving after 15 years lol,,and the pull to drive in Europe now,,,Hmmm,,now where`s that Sitra phone number lol,, enjoy your weekend my friend, safe driving, Bonne Route Pat ;-)

hi Andy thanks for your comment and sorry for the late reply yes it a demonstrator on trial....a 440 with the new mx11 engine....with a container on the same road it use 5liters less than the 410 with the mx 13 imy boss had sign for 100 like this ...i hope the the small engine will be enough for the 44 tons....i have seen the vitual truck in picture that daf had made with the livery of Sitra...it seems nice....the first one come after the summer holidays For the long trip...they are not so long for the moment ,and even when i do small trips i am not home for 5 days....sometime we have to sleep at 50kms from our home....lol have a great weekend Andy and "bonneroute "if you drive this weekend Pat

I'am 50 now Patrick I loved driving Europe. But in England hauliers make better money doing UK. So no want to send trucks in to Europe. so I now drive excavator in construction. I would go back to being a European driver if I could. but I fear we are a dying breed. stay lucky Patrick. have a great 2018.

they have made 4 models in 22 years but now they build the big "T" model.....yes a big truck and nice cab but too heavy for the bulk transport ,it was 1 ton more than a Daf thanks for the comment have a good week

no i wasnt...it is on ly the tanker drivers who goes to IRL with the bulker we dont go anymore ,they load the flour on bulk containers now and it is irish hauliers who unload them overthere Sad ,because it was one of my favorite destination....i have drive nearly every weeks to ireland in 1998 to 2001

in Europe it is only tin the UK and Ireland that we have to drive on the left ,on the continent it is on the right side...it is like this and too late to change it....i think that it was in Sweden that they have change it ,they have all change in one night....but Sweden had not the same traffic like in the UK We have normal roads ,highway with dual carriage way and the motorway .....the big roads like interstates are called with a letter E and national road with letters A or M THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT

salut Jo peut etre ,enfin je ne sais pas parce que j etais reveillé depuis 5 h du matin et on a debarqué a 09h45.....j ai pris ma douche,ete me faire un café,fais queques photos puis breakfast....tu vois sur les longues traversée c est plus cool j etais a coté d un belge ,oui mais on s est dit bonjour puis c est tout,moi je suis parti a ldouche puis mangé et au retour l autre dormait et comme je faisais 9h de coupure il dormait encore quand je suis parti,j ai plus parlé avec l espagnol a coté je lui azi demander comment roulait son daf euro6 les travaux a ypres c est pour 5 semaines ,faut compter 8min en plus pour entrer dans la cour à sitra ...pour sortir en voiture on a une petite route sur le coté ,ca evite la deviation bonne semaine à toi ,demain matin je recupere ma remorque et pars pour l angleterre Pat

The next time a car driver curses a truck for getting in their way they ought to reflect that without transport the world would grind to a halt. No raw materials for industry. No food in the stores and no clothing to cover a naked body. The hard stares that some car drivers give to truck drivers as they scramble to pass a truck (especially in the UK ) is insulting. Rather than hang back to give some space a few would rather risk an accident and blame the truck for getting in their way. This video of yours is almost a year old but my comment reflects how I used to feel at the end of a working period behind the wheel. Enjoy the job but looking forward to a rest at home with the family.Your doing a great job----B.

now 635000kms and 1500 hours of compressor to unload bulkers....it is 5 years old ....not many kms but i only drive 3 weeks by months on the road and 1 week i do internal work in a factory,(this week i do only 250kms...it is not many kms but a lot of engine hours) thanks for the comment

It isn't just getting a LGV licence, which is difficult enough, but getting employment once you have the licence. Most company's wont employ a wet licence. They want drivers with at least 5 years experience, but how do you get the experience if you cannot get a job?????????????
