Kirsty you are a really good teacher. You can inspire hope, ignite imagination and instill a love of learning. I love all your videos. Have a great day. OMG I was the first to comment. 😊😊
Thank you so much Kristy for helping me improve my skills in colored pencil (even though it's not related to this vid). I actually won a medal in the colored pencil category! (Even though I'm still a beginner) The kingfisher bird vid was actually the one that helped me (I drew a blue jay).
I'll bet everyone here has a corner that we cry in, I know I do!!! I think it's what you do when you're finished crying that REALLY determines what you're made of and how you're going move forward! Don't give up!!😂😂😄😄
This was AWESOME! I am so happy to have this in my collection of videos I reference when Painting a landscape. I find you're easy to follow. You do move rapidly, but with organization and confidence. Thank you again for sharing your time and creativity with us. It's inspiring!😊
Thanks for the tea-towel tip. I bought one of these pens and was disappointed how hard it was to remove compared to masking fluid out of a jar. will give this a go. cheers
Hi Kirsty, I noticed that you switch back and forth between a watercolor pen and brush in multiple videos now, and I am wondering when it is that you find that the use of the pen is more beneficial for you? Is it just when you're spreading color more and thinning out? I am usually so focused on the paint going down that I don't always see when it is that you've swapped out, so I haven't been able to figure out the answer to that question yet for myself. Love your work and envy how effortless you make it all seem. You are truly talented.
Kirsty Partridge another great video, I just wanted to say this really helped me and all of your videos normally do you educate us and inform us based on the medium you use and you are very guiding when I’m drawing or painting. Love your videos.
Thank you for the video ❤️ as always very helpful. And would it be possible that you do a video about gouache or pastels? I had worked with coloured pencils most of the years of my creative journey and was really wondering if these medias would work for me too, just like the watercolors did.
Okay so to make this painting easier, make sure you let your layers dry, use the wet-on-wet technique to make blending easier but don't overdo it. Also if you're truly a beginner, try swatching your colours. This painting is so beautiful and very easy to recreate like she keeps pointing out the shadows/highlights are essential to adding in that depth. If you don't have the masking tape, try adding a lighter layer of white gouache first and then when it dries use the more opaque layer to add those final highlights, also having a white highlighter pen is great for adding in the details. Also, I added the trees using the black liner, it just gives me more control over the branches and adds a bit more detail since I'm still not as advanced as Kirsty so my trees get a bit messy :) tbh she did teach me all this stuff so it's basically a summary of her other videos, not sure if this helps much but have a good day you all!
@@KirstyPartridgeArt I am from india and I love to watch your painting you are best artist plz don't stop your painting video making I wish you get 1 million subscriber family
Good question. Most of the time you could use either and I just pick the water brush pen for a change. I often pick the water brush pen if I want to create gradients or light washes (where I can squeeze the brush pen to get more water out.)
Hello Kirsty can you make a video about helping to know the spaces or coordination of each part of the face without grids and without printing the reference
Jon Hon That Would be amazing! And i have some suggestion for ya , you could buy Student Grade watercolor , such as Koi , Winsor and Newton Cotman Watercolor , etc. But Koi Watercolor is lil bit chalky , but u won't realize about it till u have professional and use it for a long time. And I suggest u , if u live in Europe Or America Continent , u could buy Winsor and Newton Cotman Watercolor or Vangogh , because it's Cheaper than Koi in There ;) *Cheaper but Better than Koi*
@@iDevandra huhu I'm from Asya but i buy Winsor and Newton already the problem is the other materials i use is not that good i have problem with my paper the canson paper 200gsm i don't enjoy painting there because if i use wet in wet technique it buckles a lot😔
Jon Hon Then buy 300gsm paper , every paper have its unique , like potentate is great for 1x wipe painting , and i suggest u to buy Arto Paper , it's 300 gsm paper , and the price in here is just $6 for A3 300gsm and 12 sheets. But it's product from japan , and it's just available on Asia. 😂
Can u do alot more pastel work, reviews please. I love pastel pencils, and soft pastels, and pan pastels. There amazing look great u can go dark to light, and u do great pastel work. Thank u mam
If you use a white coloured pencil or white wax crayon and add this to the highlighted areas first and then add watercolour over the top it will create a resist and will stop the watercolour getting to the highlights 😊
Do we have the same result by using acrylic instead of gouache when doing the highlights ? I feel like using acrylic with water just mess up my painting, I don't know if it's the technique or the medium that I have to change ..
