I have the LTV 2500 Awol. In my dedicated home cinema, with a 125" screen. I love it. I have found a forum site. Someone had professionally calibrated it. And put all his settings online. After copying his settings. The picture looks amazing now.

I have had the Samsung LSP9T and a 120" ALR screen. It's does provide a very large image clear sort of bright screen, but on,y if the lights are totally off. You are just going to get sort of watchable image. If u have an OLED, just don't bother. The screen is big and sloppy, best way to say it. It will never line up perfectly, no matter what you do, so the screen will have either light spill on the sides or not have straight lines due to the screen never being able to be perfectly aligned.

Your humility is unparalleled. You make me feel more experienced with 3D viewing on 120" unbranded manual pull down autolock white screen since year 2015. In pitch dark room all are same 😉 Just cannot stress the goods about 3D viewing experience, and I mean 'real 3D'. Can't imagine which ignorant fools got that technology to perish 😅 Some 3D miraculously outstanding titles you must watch while you can: 1. Oz the great and powerful (2013) 2. Tangled 3. A Turtle's tale 4. Megamind 5. Mr. Peabody and Sherman 6. Kung fu panda 1 7. Despicable me 1 8. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole 9. Frozen 1 10. Bolt Enjoyed your video as always.

@@ealanosborne You're welcome. Another point to note is, on ALR, picture brightness is slightly marred by off-axis viewing. In my experience white screen has worked better for 3D than ALR. The former is brighter.

So me and the wife decided instead of another 77inch or 83/85inch monster of a tv to get the AWOL 3000 Pro. Amazon had a special after Prime Day sales for $700 coupon discount. Put it on the Amazon Card and got here yesterday. We plan on getting the 120 inch screen during Black Friday. Give us time to pay the projector off and then catch the Screen during another discount period Black Friday. We are just using our huge wall in our living room for now and it looks amazing with the Nvidia Shield connected to it.

I have the 3500 pro with the floor rise screen. It's quite the theater (screen going up and all).. been using it since October last year. I might switch to a fixed frame screen in a few years. Over the period of time I have used it, wrinkles appeared on the corners. There is a reset procedure, and the wrinkles come back. The projector has been flawless. We haven't enjoyed as many 3d movies but physical media, streaming all are great, especially in combination with the Nakamichi Dragon and the Panasonic UB820/ Roku Ultra.

I like the motorized screen and it seems like positioning the UST projector would work better if you had some sort of entertainment center. You would probably still need to go with a phantom center though. I've seen some people have a regular tv for most viewing then have the screen go up in front of the TV for movie watch which seems pretty cool.
@ealanosborne

Nice projector but you paid over price for the included screen ALR mechanic system and trust me 120 inches screen is the limit for this kind of UST projector and if you have it in a dedicate theater room 120 inches screen will look small . For a living room with lot of ambient light and don't want to mess with Long throw laser projector the AWOL is perfect if you have 4,000 us and plus dollars to spend in the projector and the screen

You’ll still get brighter and overall better HDR image quality with OLED, but OLED TVs that large are INSANELY expensive. 😃

Very cool screen. Something I've been thinking about for a while now is designing a VR theater if the client's aesthetics demand or they just need a specific solution. Basically, you get a Quest 3 (or another headset that has a computer in it). You hook up an Elgato 4kX to a computer or an iPad via USB-C. Then, you hook up a USB-C from the headset to the computer. Next, you download and install the app "Immersed" to both the computer and the headset. Download Elgato game capture to the computer or iPAd. Lastly, you hook up your receiver/processor to the Elgato's HDMI-in. idk how much you know about Immersed but the gist for the program (I use it all the time) is that it provides a VR or mixed reality experience for a virtual, multi-monitor setup. It's quite amazing to use because it allows to use up to 5 virtual monitors, all the way up to 4k resolution at the refresh rate of the headset, and those monitors can be resized and place in your environment to your specs. All that to say, you could pull up Elgato game capture on your iPad or computer, set it to full screen, resize that virtual monitor to replicate a huge screen at 4k (you can grab a friend and physically measure the VR screen with a tape measure because the screen is fixed in the virtual environment. You can basically get it as big as you want.), and watch whatever you want in your personal theater. Audio can be handled via Airpods for Apple TV or a full outboard surround system. Another exciting thing you could do to get HDR and Dolby Vision into any headset you would use would be to specifically buy a player that handles that DV metadata prior to sending it to a display. I know the Zidoo players do that specifically. I would need to do some testing though to figure out if you have to have a display capable of decoding HDR/Dolby Vision to use any source besides that to get HDR/DV. Very complicated but once setup and depending on the headset, you could easily have a super high fidelity video experience for a fraction of what it normally costs. Some of these headsets are shipping with micro-OLED displays in them. Wild time we live in. But with the Quest being so inexpensive and 3rd party straps allowing for multi-hour comfort, you could watch a movie on a 200"+ screen while blasting your surround system in a virtual starry-night kind of background. It's insanely immersive. Same thing for gaming as well. Another important thing to watch out for when choosing a VR headset is to make sure you can set the IPD adjustment to your exact IPD. This will also get rid of possible eye strain. I've almost got it all figured out. Just need to do some more testing.

@MyFatherLoves - I'm in the middle of trying to set this up! re: HDR/Dolby Vision - I was wondering that. Q1 - Are you saying that with the Zidoo feeding the process the Quest 3 or Apple Vision Pro or perhaps Viture One Pro would show HDR/Dolby Vision? Q2 - Another issue I've encountered is How do you get Atmos? If you set up as source (e.g. Zidoo) --> AVR--> PC w/ Elgato --> VR headset via Immersed will that work (haven't tested yet) or does HDMI chain prevent that ? Q3 - Lastly - the other issue is that as great as the Apple Vision Pro, etc are - the images (at least using the built in streaming) seem to be 1080p. via your setup (and Immersed) will it be 4K? With that said, I think that although the resolution on the lenses is 4k per eye, in these glasses that's not the same as 4K on a TV. Looking forward to hear more, and perhaps touch base. CG
