I love your hat pattern however I didn’t understand the need for the Slip stitch single crochet and chain two crochet stitch, I omitted that part and made it seamless I love the look without the seam beautiful pattern I’ve made 4 already for charities.
I made 3 of these this weekend! They worked up so easily and look amazing. I used both varigated and solid colored yarns and both ways looked fantastic. I made one for my husband and one for myself! The other I will give away to our local winter warming shelter with some other beanies and hats I have made.Thank you so much for the tutorial.
I just wanted to let you know that I liked this pattern so much that I have crocheted 20 hats of assorted colors and sizes. So, I want to thank you again for sharing this beanie pattern.
Crown is the top - most top - part of your head. Usually the crown in your hair is slightly to the back of your head, but the most top part. Then moving in the direction of your ears/neck/forehead. The hat usually ends close to the brow. See? So from the crown to bottom is from the crown the "end of the hat" which is where you want it to sit. It is sitting over my husband's ears, touching the top of his eyebrows, and just touching the neck. This is for instance a question that I would be able to explain 'in person' on our Monday crochet livestream. Then if you asked it there, then I'd be able to quickly demonstrate. Have a blessed weekend.
Oh my, I read wrong. I read 'what does it mean' but you wrote 'what does it measure'. So sorry. It is 23 cm or 9 inches from crown to edge of the hat. I measured the one that my husband wears often. But I think he has a big head. My head is smaller,
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful hat pattern. The tutorial was excellent, I learned something new, and I really appreciate the different options for making it. Thank you!😊❤
Great tutorial thank you! If I'm not mistaken, you've got a beautiful Afrikaans accent? Hahaha your accent makes me miss home! Can't wait to see more videos :D
At the end of row 4 you should have 48 stitches. Did you have 48 stitches at the end of row 4? Which means you should have 48 + 12 = 60 stitches at the end of row 5. In row 5, did you work one increase (meaning two double crochet stitches in the same stitch), and 3 double crochet stitches in the next 3 stitches and then repeat?? Because that is the pattern for row 5.
Hello I just started Crocheting 2 weeks ago and have done multiple beanies. Your videos were by far the easiest for me to learn from. You are very thorough and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing!
I'm very happy and I hope that you find more crocheting tops etcetera you may want to make. Check out my WEARABLES playlist for all sorts of clothing. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you so much for this pattern! I've always struggled so badly with beanies, but this has been so much fun and I love the outcome. This video is one of the best I've seen for a beanie tutorial 💞
Thank you for the tutorial I am getting ready to make this beanie for a friend's husband I wish I could post it so you can see ... thank you ❤❤❤❤ from Atlanta Georgia you be blessed 🫶🏾😍
Off topic, I'm a hairdresser and I must tell you your hair color is gorgeous. You look wonderful with it... Back on topic. I enjoyed making this beanie for my boyfriend 😊
Very nice pattern ❤also first time I’ve seen your channel so as a Thank you for the free pattern I am a new subscriber! I haven’t made many hats but I love this pattern and I’m excited to try it! ❤
Easily the best crochet tutorial and instructions I’ve seen in the 4 years I’ve been making hats. Thank you soooo much for this. You are appreciated :)
Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial. I made this for my husband, and he just loves it. My brother in law requested one once he saw his. So I made him one and sent it off as surprise for Christmas. I also love the sc + 2ch ❤
I'm 55 years old and I've been crocheting since I was 7 years old. I've been looking for a simple, crocheted beanie for a man. Something different from what I've been crocheting. And I just came across your tutorial. I loved it. So, I subscribed to your channel. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Vicky! So nice to meet you! I'm 54. My husband was 'nagging' me to make this tutorial. So I did it, so now he gets to gloat! Haha. He sees it as 'his' tutorial. I also made a tutorial for fingerless gloves, and although it is my hands on the thumbnail, I made some for my husband because he likes to wear it. Men and women can wear it. Thank you so much for subscribing. We also do livestreams on Mondays and Fridays where we 'hang out'. If it's not your thing - and it's not everybody's thing, then just ignore those notifications. But some ppl love to just grab their cuppa and project and hang out with us. Anyone is welcome. Have a blessed weekend my friend.
Loved your video, very clear to follow. I started my husband's beanie right after watching your video. Can you tell me please how many cm. from the end of the crown to the bottom? I want to surprise him so cant measure on his head. Thank you
I made also 9" but that's because I ran out of yarn, I used leftover ball of yarn. It fits my husband and he is happy. I copied your smart idea of starting with ch3 and making the 1st chain as a magic loop. So much easier than the magic loop. I will use it from now on. But instead of working in rows I worked just one row all the way down, around and around so don't have to bother with the 1sc and ch2 at the beginning and absolutely no seam line anywhere. Do you have other projects on youtube? thank you
Oh yes!@@leah3084 Thank you so much. Check out my WEARABLES playlist on this channel. Anything that I make that one can wear on your body is in this playlist. I'm glad it helped you. Have a blessed weekend.
Oh yay!! I would love for your to post a picture in our facebook group. On a Monday I have a livestream on RU-vid where I go over to Facebook to showcase what the facebook members have posted. The RU-vid crowd loves to see it. xx
I made one today using Vanna’s choice in Barley. Easy pattern that went quick. I added one more row of SCFP and SCBP just to snug it in a little more. Definitely will be making more!! Thank you! 😍
Where are you from, your accent is so South African .... Ive just completed the beanie, easy and well explained, many thanks. Regards Sushie, South Africa
Hi! I have Finish 1 Beanie for my Husband from your Pattern & now im doing another 1 for my Daughter in-law & also another one for her friend! Thank You so much for the very easy & Beautiful Beanies we have now! Post it as soon as i finish the 2! God Bless ❤
A nice , straightforward crown down pattern. I am in UK and have been crocheting for mamy years and have to think in UK terminology - your double crochet is a treble crochet to me 😊 but I am now used to converting the terminology. Can anyone from UK recommend an alternative, readily available yarn to the one used here which I have never comexacross before?
Love, love your crochet sweater you are wearing.❤️❤️ Could you do a tutorial on it ? It’s gorgeous on you. Thanks for the great tutorial on a man’s beanie. So hard to find men’s patterns. I’m new to crochet wanting to make your darling sweater.❤️❤️
THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I just finished this beanie and wanted to say how increibly easy it was to make this beanie; counting after every row helped so much. I loved your phrase "the fake crochet" which kept me on the correct stitch. I loved the sc ch2..pracically invisible seam as well and all of the other tips you provided. I used an H hook, 4 medim acrylic yarn and did add extra round of increase and length to accomidate for the size I needed. I am "hooked" on your tutorials!!
Thank you for the video. Important don’t normally comment on videos but in this case wanted to thank you for the simple act of counting your stitches at the end of each round. I have been trying to make a beanie for two days and struggled to get past round 6 because at the end needing 72 stitches each round I would somehow increase by 1-4 stitches. I have undone, counted, undone and counted several times. I’m hoping this will help me!
Hi, thanks for a great pattern and tutorial 😊 I made one for a friend and worked out perfect. I've tried to make another with different wool and the circle goes wavy, I have the correct stich count . I've changed my tension and hook size but makes no difference ..... help what am I doing wrong 😅
I just made a solid black hat using this tutorial for my husband! Black is no joke to work with 😂 but thanks for teaching how to make the ribbing! Great tutorial!!
Beginner crocheter here. Only thing I've ever made was a simple tote bag, and after listening to this, I am finding that making this beanie is very easy. thank you for being thorough and explaining the steps perfectly. Love your work!
Abigail thank you! I make all tutorials so that my daughter and mother = who are beginners - will be able to follow along. Check out my Wearables playlist for more easy things to make. thanks for watching!
I love this pattern, I am crocheting a hat right now, following along with your video. I like the one with the ribbing all the way down as it may be a bit warmer since it is thicker this way, but both look great!
Thank you Cathleen. I love how we learn something new and then it becomes part of your repertoire. Thanks for taking the time to write a comment. I really appreciate it.
Just wanted to let you know what a beautiful crochet men’s hat it is so difficult to get crochet hat patterns for male. I made one for my husband and he loves it. You are a wonderful teacher you explain everything in details. I was never taught to read a pattern but Ivan follow the video and I love this pattern very much. Thank you for sharing this lovely pattern I want you to know I enjoyed your video very much and am looking forward to the next men’s pattern. Blessings to you.
Oh wow! I'm so glad you liked it. I only made the tutorial because hubby was nagging me to do it! LOL!! So if my man didn't nag me your man wouldn't have a hat! Funny hey!! Have a blessed weekend sweetie and thank you for the lovely comment.
worked this one with you.. i like it. I think I would do it in the round rather than rows, slip stitching each end. This will be a favorite pattern because it is so easy yet so beautiful! 😘
Well explained and easy to follow. This looks great when completed. I like the ribbed stitches. The finished item looks advanced, but it was nice and simple to make. 😊
Thank you for posting this tutorial. I enjoyed making this quick and easy beanie. I have tried several patterns and this one came out the best. I can't wait to make more. The wait you explain the increases is very helpful and will help me with all of the other projects I make. Only thing I did differently was I started with a magic circle. Once you master that I think it starts off the circles much cleaner.
