Thanks so much for this great video. I am going through a tough financial time right around the time of my son's birthday so I couldn't buy him something extravagant. But what kid doesn't like money?! Lol. (He's turning 22, so technically not a kid, but I digress). I have a $50 dollar bill I want to give him and we LOVE cats in our home, so this will be a great gift to him. I'm going to tell him that I'm getting him a cat for his birthday (we already have 9!) and then I'll pull out this neat origami $50 bill cat. It should be a good laugh and a good memory. Thanks again for this quick and easy tutorial.

this was an amazing tutorial. If you find this difficult, turn now the volume. I know it sounds weird, but if you are easily distracted by extra input and audio stimulation(like I am), then turning down the volume may help you focus. Have you ever been driving somewhere new, looking for an address and turn down the radio volume so you can "see where you're going better"? This is a great example of one of your senses being distracted (your eyes) by stimulus from another sense (your ears. ) Anyways, the music is nice but at one point I had to mute it so I could only pay attention to the visuals. This is amazing! Sadly our New Zealand money must be way stiffer and thicker with some plastic bits added and it won't stay in place and my cat looks more like a bull 😆

It's easy design but you need to give more instructions. I followed every step but quite often it was difficult to understand what to do. It took me double the time of the video to finish the origami and mine looks like a kitten :D

Damn fingers in the way of the most important folds. Good job though. But could have gone a little bit more slow at possible different camera position.

Imagine using a real $1000 bank note to make this.

It's simple, but not easy. I persevered and after lots, and lots, and lots of rewinding/replaying (55 min. worth), I finally completed it. I spent even a lot more time & effort with 3 different vids to make "a dollar bill ring" and never could complete it. All were a total waste of time, and their Comments indicated most couldn't do them either. Idea -- all origami videos should be banned from using the word "EASY" in their titles and descriptions.

Way too fast in between folds. Hands in the way too often so I can’t see what is going on. Super frustrating. This is the only video I’ve ever given up on.

If you're having problems with this origami, my advice is give up. I've been doing origami for about a week now, the first video I tried to follow was really difficult, so I gave up, and found another one. I kept bouncing around the internet trying and failing to follow different tutorials until one of them just worked for me. That video taught me something the first one was doing a shitty job explaining so I went back to the first one and got that one easily. In fact, this video uses something that another tutorial assumes you already understand, and now that I've made this cat, I can probably do that tutorial a lot easier. So, again, if you're having trouble with this tutorial. Give up, go somewhere else that makes sense to who you are today, and then come back to this one when it makes sense to who you become. And be patient, the pause and "go back five seconds" buttons on your keyboard are your best friends while watching these. (Spacebar and left arrow key for me) I will usually watch the whole video once without doing anything and then follow along step by step, hitting pause and go back as many times as I need to understand the fold (which is sometimes A LOT OF TIMES) and when I make the fold I take it verrrrryyyyy slowly, making sure I hit all the guide points of the fold. That's another thing, watch where things meet up in the video and use those to guide your own fold. It will help you ensure you're doing the right thing. Make sure you get a lot of dollar bills and don't be afraid to start over with another. Sometimes the bill is wonky and just won't cooperate. Lastly, have fun! Origami is supposed to be a calming activity where you create something beautiful from something plain and simple.
