The secret to making a riding mower last a long time is to keep it dry, use fresh fuel and perform all maintenance on time, including oil and filter changes. My last riding mower lasted 16-years before I sold it and I plan to get at least 16-years out of my 2019 Cub Cadet.

I had purchased the Everbilt (702361) clear vinyl tubing (5/8 in OD - 1/2 in ID) at Home Depot which fits perfect for my XT1 drain plug and cut the length size to reach my drain pan to avoid spilling any oil and worked great. How did you reset the change oil reminder?

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, thanks also for the part number on the tubing! My mower came with a short length of tubing to use on the oil drain, but I always seem to make a mess when changing the oil filter, so I just use the foil for draining the oil and removing the oil filter. :) I typically use the mower about 25-30 hours a season and I always change the oil at the end of the season instead of waiting for the oil reminder every 50-hours. I don't even know if there is a way to reset it, it always goes away on it's own eventually.

Thanks, I have under 20 hours of use and changed it for the first time a couple weeks ago now that spring is here. Last year I had seen another video where someone had said that the oil had to be changed after the first initial 5 hours of use because it was breaking oil. Not sure but I just waited for this season to do the first oil change. The factory installed oil filter was so hard to remove and I noticed the new one I purchased at Home Depot is smaller the the original one.
