Watch this step-by-step guide on how I install a 7kwh battery with a 3kw off-grid inverter into my RV for boondocking. I used the BigBattery.com Mustang kit to get this done and it was very easy to do.

Can you do a smaller system like this for an RV while traveling? I need to run fridge and ac while traveling. I want to be able to plug into my truck to trickle charge the battery while driving.

Perfect timing for this video. We are in the early stages of researching a motorhome to purchase. We will be retiring and living in the motorhome full-time. I've already installed a large solar system at our off-grid cabin, so naturally, I want to do it to the motorohome. I think it might void the warranties on the roof and electric, but their warranties are usually not great any way. My big concern is weight. With a gas motorhome, it might be too much weight adding a lot of panels, inverter, and batteries. May need to look at a different battery just because of weight restrictions. Our old travel trailer had that same great pass-through storage you have. I would definately miss that in a motorhome. I would like to get the link you mentioned to the solar panel roof setup. That looked very intriguing. Thanks for another great video!

Sounds great. If you're concerned about weight, CIGS panels are an okay option but you honestly won't make enough power from them to be of worth in my opinion. It's good if you only need to run really small basic items, not A/C, fridge, and larger items. I'll get the link to you asap on the new racking system, it's truly the best option.

Cool... I'm using the g same hybrid inverter! I just wish I'd gone with a bigger one. Im in a thow and 6 nasty Jane served my needs a little better. Im just not sure how to beg up my system and i also don't jabber a kill switch on it, so now I'm scared to put it on. For fear of needing up the whole system.

$3,950 for a 150ah, 48v, LFP battery? $600 for that Growatt inverter and some cables isn't bad, but you can get close to twice as much battery capacity, for that price.

Good video. I know you have been a Titan fan for years. Are you going to do a video on the new Titan Boost and Titan 240SP?
@minutemanprep
@minutemanprep 5 месяцев назад
Sadly no. I had a couple of negative remarks to say about the Titan240SP and Point Zero immediately canceled me as a dealer for them and won't give me access to the unit. I don't like that the 240v output is limited to 4,000w and it can't be paired with a second 240SP unit to make it 8,000w output. It severely limits the 240v appliances you can run, which begs the question, "why get it if I can only run one or two 240v items." The new Delta Pro Ultra has 7,200w 240v output with a single inverter, and each battery is 6,144wh, currently $5799, and can expand up to 30.6kwh per DPU and has 5,600w of solar input. The 240SP has 2,500wh per battery, so you need three to be a bit more than the DPU, which makes the unit cost $7,780, and only has 2,400w of solar input. I mentioned all of these concerns to Point Zero before they released the 240SP and they decided to move forward anyway. So you can buy the 240SP for $2,000 more than the DPU, and have 1/2 of the capability, which is very unfortunate. You can see the new DPU system here: us.ecoflow.com/?aff=368

@@minutemanprep thank you for explaining this situation. I was wondering what happened. I love my original Titan, like you do. We were chosen to be brand ambassadors for them. I use portable generators for emergency use at home, boon docking in our RV and our pharmacy business as emergency backup. I always enjoy your content. Keep up the good work.

I have the Eg4 system I’d like to find someone to install in my RV. Know anyone interested?
@quickquote1568
@quickquote1568 5 месяцев назад
EG4 inverters are not UL-458 safety listed for use in an RV, so you're going to have a tough time finding a reputable installer who will take the risk of installing it. You should have bought a low frequency, transformer based, UL-458 listed inverter charger.

Thank you… I have been debating the install, but seen this video and thought I should find an installer… I will keep it for an off grid property. Thanks

This Growatt 3kW high frequency, transformerless inverter is not UL-458 listed for mobile applications and for safety reasons should never be installed in an RV.
