Recently a pal asked about how I make the track before I live jam with it. So here it is. A little workflow video from start to end. There's a bit more involved in the process (mastering the final track in Logic etc) so if you'd be keen to see another video with that too, then drop me a comment below and I'll see what I can do. Feel free to ask any questions, I'm by no way an expert but know my way around the OP-1 pretty well.
Enjoy!

Love this. A few lightbulbs went off watching your workflow. Thank you!
@intheblink
I really respect you for showing this kind of uncut workflow, especially when you get asshat comments (and don’t even delete them). Sounds really great! One of the cooler things I’ve heard someone make on an OP-1.
@AltaMihartescu
very helpful workflow demonstration. I wish more op1 field users would post content like this.

Nice tune! Gave me some good ideas.

Awesome vid! love it, do you have any recommended video like op1 - 101 and how to improve, etc.
@Chrisjonpage
A little trick I do for that pattern sequencer is I leave the Reel on play, so my bar is looping, then go back to the sequencer and toggle the "hold" setting careful to activate it at the start of my loop. That way you can play "live" with the loop and capture notes ( while holding the shift button) to capture the notes on the grid. Its great, I have no idea how ppl use that thing manually 😅
@BIG1TOWER
This thing would be awesome if it had the op-z sequencer in it but no TE decided to charge you $2000 for a Garbage sequencer. I want to love this thing but I can’t because it lack one of the most important aspects of a groove box, then they only give you four tacks. To fix everything wrong about the op-1 field will take TE implementing all of the op-z features to this device. For 2k we need at lease 8 midi tracks and more song capabilities to justify spending hard cash on something like this. I honestly think the polyend tracker mini runs circles around the op-1. The Roland Mc 101 is a much better buy that come with thousands of sounds and a midi sequencer.

Looks like you may have a Pills look going!

Considering getting one…. To play live .. just the op1. Maybe their mixer and a mic. The limitations, no undo, might make it a great challenge. I play experimental noise music. What do ya think- over priced, too limited, etc.?
@NothingNowhereNoOne
This is driving me nuts : when I record drums , the recording is quieter and WAY less dynamic ! Playing live and doing this in real time will be a noticeable distraction. Am I doing something wrong ?

I wish TE would update the sequencers

You’re really fumbling around with this bad boi. You made me feel good about my production abilities. Silver lining 😅.

After seeing this I wont be getting one. This kindergarten level
@brandonwoodward6072
Pattern is ultra approachable if you can count and understand subdivision.🤷‍♂️

This is a literal train wreck. You picked up a portion of a track and lost it. Is jamming just you willy nilly muting tracks and adding random disjointed effects and praying to the wholly mother of god that it works? Sorry if I am being harsh. I think you might want to work on getting a little more eduction and practice before posting something on RU-vid. I guess there really isn’t any reason you shouldn’t except it might make you look some type of way, but I guess you might not care about that which is good.
@brandonwoodward6072
Just play the damn open high hat with your friggin finger. Why are you using a sequencer for a simple open hat on the upbeat? This is literally killing me but I can’t stop watching
