2nd part to finish the baby blanket. Decrease pattern k2 k2tog Yo k2tog k across row...continue until there are 5 stitches remaining...bind off Weave in ends
Thanks for this video! I made a baby blanket for my new grandson who is arriving on September / 30/2022 watching your video! You are a great teacher. I’m a beginner knitting.
Thank you so much for a slow succinct description- I have not knitted in over 30 years. I am planning on making this for my grandbaby coming this November. Thank you!
Thank you. Watched both parts 1 & 2. Very detailed and easy to follow instructions., And because of his I am halfway through making a sample baby blanket just to get my confidence up and it's looking AMAZING 🥰. SO THANK YOI XX
Thank you for this easy knit pattern. I'm knitting it now and the idea is like the C2C crochet blanket I've made many of. 3rd time trying knitting is the charm--I can see where I'm at when I pick it back up--that was always a problem in my previous attempts at knitting.
Thank you so much for showing us this very easy to follow pattern! My 1st baby blanket of 3 for my future grandkids:) Not needed anytime soon, but will be ready! love from Colo
Just a gentle reminder that in the written instructions for the decreases, you forgot to write the YO.....eg.....K2, K2 TOG, YO, K2 TOG, then K to end. Right?
hello! Thank you for your video, out of all the videos i looked at it was the one that actually made me get it instantly! thank you so much! one question though, i have normal needles not like yours with that sort of tube i see.. so what happens when you have so many stitches on your needle you can't fit no more?how do you keep going?
Thank you for your detailed explanation. I followed the instructions but now is not a square blanket. It has 2 round nice corners and two pointy corners (this is where I began and finished) it does not look pretty
It sounds great in theory but I am not the best at keeping the yarn on the needles and keep having to start over is there something I can do so I don't lose 2 or 3 rows by dropping stitches?
Hi Thanks so much for this, as a beginner I love my blanket, your instructions were so easy to follow. I’m now keen to make a smaller one in another colour. Do I just half the number of stitches then start to decrease?
She hasn’t commented so I figured I’d drop my thoughts… that is a good idea going in but also mesure it when it gets to half the stitches. Make sure it’s the size you want.
Quite late to the party here, but in the first video the instructions were to knit to whatever size you like (measuring from corner to needle) as long as you end on an odd number of stitches.
Can you explain why we need an odd number? I am totally new to this and myh yarn is bulkier, so it built up fast and I don't need as many. But why an add number?
Am really enjoying knitting this blanket. Perfect pattern for a first try. And your instructions are so easy to follow. But I do have a question. We add 1 stitch per row until we have 207 stitches. If we take 2 stitches off per row, won’t we have half as many rows in the second half of the blanket?
Hello! Do you have a video on how to change yarn color with this pattern? I have almost run out of yarn while making this piece and would love to change colors!
Where is this blanket part 1.please let me know as I am planning to knit a new born baby who is expected a blanketwho iand also let me know how many stitches needed for a baby blanket.thanks.
I’m I’m an extreme newbie to knitting! Love the videos. I’m almost to 207 stitches and wondering why when we knit first 1/2 we increased the stitches by 1 with the decorative stitch but when decreasing we decrease 2 stitches each time?
Good question! As you start the decrease if you only decrease by 1 and yarn over by 1 you are not adding or taking away so the blanket will stay the same width...ask me how I know...I had not made this blanket for a while and when I went back to it and got to the decrease I forgot the 2nd decrease and couldn't understand why it wasn't getting any smaller...had to rip back about 3 inches of work when I figured it out!
Thank you so much for this video, so clear and informative. I want to make tiny blankets for our micro preemie babies. They need to be 21-25 inches square. What size is the blanket in your video? Would you be able to tell me how many stitches I need to make one this small? Thank you so very much!
That is so beautiful!! The finished blanket is approx 30” square…so I’m not sure the exact number of stitches you would need but when the piece measures 21-25 inches just begin your decrease at that point…you are working on a diagonal so across the center is where the decrease begins and is the total size. Hope that helps!
@@SweetSouthernArtbyMJ Thank you so much! I've collected my yarn and ready to give it a try. Got your video marked, so I can refer back to it. Thank you again!
I meant to tell you, I also learned to knit in 5th grade. My neighbor had a sleeping party and her mom taught us all how to knit. We made house shoes! I've never forgotten what she taught me. Such a sweet memory.
I'm a fairly experienced knitter but I am having a hard time fully understanding your directions. It seems you are saying one thing and yet doing something different. I get rows 1 and 2, but you lose me on row 3. Are you simply knitting to the end of the row? If so, how are you showing another loophole at the end of the row in the next section. Does that not require a 2nd yarn over near the end of the row?
I think so, she replied to somebody else who asked and she said as long as we end in an odd number, we can decrease after the preferable size we are looking for. I also want to make it bigger, for me haha.
What an easy way to knit a baby blanket thank you if i need to make a very big blanket in this style how can I tell how many stitches do I have to increase for the first half if you can help I do appreciate your support thank you Gloria
Love your videos so easy to understand. Can you please tell me what type of yarn is best? I thought you mentioned Baby Sport as well as Lion brand. Also can you tell me the amount that would be considered the largest skein? I might be ordering online. Thank you so much
I'm not really married to the brand of yarn I use...I like to feel it and then choose..as far as how much...the skeins I buy are usually 5 oz. and I use about 1-1.5 skeins per blanket...hope that helps!
Thank you for this pattern! I would like to make another blanket but smaller in size. How many stitches should I use? I knit very loose and I believe that is the reason my blanket has turned out so large. Should I go to a size 7 needle? Thank you very much!!
I would just add stitches until you like the size of it the begin your decrease...just make sure it is an odd number of stitches...smaller needles will also help. Happy knitting!
@@SweetSouthernArtbyMJ I'm totally enjoying it, as a complete newbie. I have "Post-traumatic Crafting Syndrome" (PTCS) from being shut down for my lack of "crafting abilities" my entire life. (Seriously, I NEVER like my projects) Anyway, so far it's really cute and I am almost ready to decrease it. I don't even care if it's perfect. I am just enjoying it and will let my granddaughter have it for her dollies, if it's not that nice when I am done. SO far, it's really cute.
Hi! Yeh tar aapko shayad alag se nahin mil sakta. Needles ko tar ke saath khareedna padega. Isko circular knitting needles bolte hain. Aapko yeh online Amazon per ya kisi bhi craft store se mil sakta hai.
If you were following my written directions and not the audio it’s because I forgot to put in the YO (yarn over)...this is what starts the decrease and forms the corner....I apologize and I have fixed it. Hope this solves the problem.
If i add more stitches as long as the stitches are an odd number..is the decrease worked the same? Instead of the 207 stitches could I add 231... Thank you for replying..
@@SweetSouthernArtbyMJ thank you so much for replying..i wanted to addd a few more stitches..but wasn't sure if the decrease would be the same..e.g.k2. K2 together..yo..k2 together then knit across.. Many thanks...I appreciate you..and your pattern!!!
