Learn how to trust your gut and your brain instead of rules when drawing backgrounds and environments. It will help make your illustrations more organic.
These are the two books I recommend for perspective in comics.
Vanishing Point - This one is a little easier to read and applies all knowledge towards comics.

Complete Guide - This one is very technical and advanced. It's not something you'd want to read, more skim to know what is possible. It's a great reference book on how to correctly figure out size, complex and irregular shapes, and just saving your brain when it comes to hard perspective.

Here's my video with the complex technique for figuring out size.
• How to use Perspective...
I got nothing against learning all the rules and methods of perspective. I've learned them, they are super helpful to know. Knowing them will allow you to dig yourself out of a hole when your drawing looks like poo.
But I hardly ever use those techniques in my day-to-day drawing. Granted I have a more loose, whatever style, but I think this can still be applied to more technical "crafticians", at least in the early stages of their drawings.
