It's easier to mix the mayo, pickles, onion, etc in the bowl first, then add the potatoes last, as to not break them up so bad! That's how I do it! ❤️✌️❤️
Sure looks good. My mouth is watering! Nothing better than homemade potatoe salad made with red onions along with the other ingredients. I put in some celery seed because celery make the dish watery.
So many foodinista's on here. This looks like a good, solid recipe. And my mother always boiled her eggs with her potatoes so I do too. I also add a little finely chopped celery & green pepper.
Learned a trick from my aunts to keep the form of them put in the fridge for up to an hour then mix everything together that’s how I keep my potatoes from breaking so bad my mom like to use the freezer for 10 minutes to try and keep their form but I told her fridge is best honey 💯😂
I love the fact that there isn't too many other additionals which to some extent defeats the whole idea of a good old potato salad. This is definitely yummy!
Due to salmonella, it's best to boil the eggs separately especially since the potato salad will be eaten cold. This is just a good safety measure. Thank you!
That's just.... Crazy! You've got bad eggs to start with if you've got to worry about boiling them separate! I'm 57 yrs old and I know litterly NOBODY that does it separately! ✌️☺️🙄
@@abdullaaayelasimayer8703 Key word is: BOIL. So, tell us all how Salmonella survives boiling when it doesn't. Now, shut yourself up and take ALL the seats 😘
It’s better to do In layers when mixing it helps prevent smushy potatoe salad, also adding In celery gives a good crunch if you don’t like onions and pickles hand diced if you don’t care for Relish ☺️💕👏🏼 salt and pepper for taste and my favorite Mayo to use is miracle whip. I also boil potatoes with skin on then let cool and peel then dice up, it’s a old recipe from my grandmother and we get many compliments for years and requests for the potato salad
I sprinkle in season salt garlic pepper and all the other ingredients u put in but I smash my eggs before putting them in I let my potato's cool down a bit also
My mom taught me to use about a quarter of what’s left of Kraft real mayo and a couple of squirts of mustard a bit of sugar and salt and pepper all put in the mayo jar shake it up and pour over your potato salad taste as you go
Look very tasty, except for the skins on the potatoes, which I know is very healthy for you, and a lot of people are starting to leave the peeling on!👍🏼❤
This is how my family always makes potato salad. Is there a longer way? Potato salad is a quick and easy dish to make. We always boil the eggs with potatoes, then add in ingredients to taste. Except we use dill relish not sweet. My mom and mother in law and I like to add chopped green olives and sometimes chopped bacon.
That's how we do it, but I like green onions in mine instead of the other and add a little cajun seasoning. I'll even dive into that bowl while it's still warm.
Great recipe. For the lacto-vegetarians, a variation could be to substitute 1. boiled and skinned chickpeas for eggs, and 2. use either hung-curd or sour cream in place of mayonnaise.
Add a tad of sugar dash of salt pepper and sometimes trade the relish for pickled peppers also sold in the relish aisle you will thank me later !! Oh & paprika for color
Looks like how I use to do it,but I wanted to sure, don’t know if the kids would want the skins, but they’ll have plenty to eat, Thanks so much for sharing ♥️ I know they’ll be yummy.Happy Easter ♥️
Well hells bells, I'm 57 yrs old and I've been boiling my eggs in my potatoes for as long as I've been cooking! Never not never have I had an issue. That's the problem with folks today, scared of germs! Anyway... Together or in the pots, if your eggs have bacteria, they're ruined to start with! Right!
@@sheilad83 thissss!! I’m 18 and i boil potatoes with eggs. If you washed both well then there shouldn’t be a problem. They can chop and peel after boiling too
Honestly, never thought to boil my potatoes with my eggs. I dont know why not. Also, I hate onions and celery in this dish so i never put them in but make a spare batch for those who do. Always relish, yummy.
I like the idea of potato salad = more summer please!! I tried a recipe where you add lemon juice to the potatoes when they are warm for 10m the add the rest of the ingred. That you like, .no vinegar that i recall!
Very delicious but to maintain the vitamins in the potatoes, cut it the same way and steam them. I never cook my vegetables because all the vitamins get lost in the water.
