💡💡💡About me:💡💡💡
Hi! I’m Sergey! I’m creating easy and comprehensible stories in Russian.
I’m teaching Russian since 2016, and although I’m not a professional teacher, I do have a lot of experience and I’m a language learner myself. I use comprehensible input (CI) and TPRS, which are some of the best methods in natural language acquisition. On my channel you don’t have to memorize bunch of words or learning grammar rules. Just sit, watch, read and enjoy!

Thank you so much for this. Other learning content has either A1 stuff like counting to 10 or full on conversations in Russian. Not much in between. And 99% of other material is rules and vocabulary lists. You fill the gaps and let my brain build the skill of speaking Russian at the level that I need. Спасибо)

In Russia you don't eat ice cream at the theater? In UK they sell tiny pots of ice cream that cost about a day's wage.

This is funny, but the puppets speak "immigrant Russian", they use some calques borrowed from English, which native Russian speakers do not use.

Which ones?
@dmitrylytov5005
@dmitrylytov5005 Год назад
@@InRussianFromAfar 1:26 Я не знаю, если мне нравится эта идея. In the standard Russian, it will be: Не уверен, что мне нравится эта идея. Immigrants often translate "if" as "если", but it is only correct in expressions like: If I do something, then something will happen (Если сегодня будет дождь, мы не пойдём в театр). In dependent clauses (I'm not sure if I want it) it is either dropped altogether, or is translated as a particle "ли", which is post-positive, i.e. placed AFTER the word that is put in doubt: Не уверен, хочу ли я. There is even a famous joke about the "ли" particle (хочу ли я... могу ли я...) - you will find it on the Internet.
@dmitrylytov5005

4:00 "И также, ты знаешь, эта одежда..." - I would rather say "А ещё, ты знаешь, эта одежда" "Также" is mostly used in printed texts, while in the colloquial speech, people prefer expressions like "а ещё", "к тому же", "кроме того" (depending on the context)
@dmitrylytov5005
@dmitrylytov5005 Год назад
4:05 "Для меня нужно одеть костюм" - I'd replace with "Мне нужно одеть костюм"
