There's different stages / products used when tarring roads, some of the better success with wd40 seems to happen when its the tar primer and the like. It's more of a liquid that gets applied floors. The thicker more gunky stuff has little to no penetration but does seem to stiffen the tar some when wd40 is applied.
I looked on RU-vid to find a quick way of removing tar from a white car I purchased and I tried the wd40 method and the vinegar method but neither worked, my dad suggested using T-CUT and that did the job straight away just put it on a cloth and rub it in using some force and watch the paintwork clean up nice, hope this helps
There is also another product that I can recommend having tried it a few times on different surfaces which is Gtechniq Tar and Glue remover it's meant for cars and comes in a spray bottle but it good on plastic and laminate flooring aswell
my friend stuck a roofing tarp on his patio doors for that hurricaine back in 2015 i removed tarp but almost a half inch of glue is stuck on windows i cant remove, any help would be great i tried goo be gone and nothing help lol
Goo gone or goof off I would think would work better?! You know the citrus cleaner, I've used it for adhesive removal from de-badging the Focus emblem off of my ST and it did literally make the sticky adhesive fall off pretty much. I'd also be concerned about what WD-40 would do to the finish of the paint, maybe nothing, I don't know, I've only used it for what it's intended for, lubrication, but maybe this is a "life hack" I'm unaware of?!
Put your back into it lad. It does work, try a slightly damp cloth and go in small circles. It won't fall off on its own so you will need to put a bit of pressure down. As others have said, "Elbow grease" 😉. I used a similar technique to get rid of some small tar sports and it worked well for me.
Hey man, have you heard of the ZL1 rock guards for our cars? They give you the protection that a mud flap gives you but a way cleaner look! I put them on mine to prevent tar/rock chips and they're awesome
That was sling from tire sidewall with cheap ass dressing on them, not tar. Get some Goo Gone Automotive Spray Gel. Use just enough to cover the stains. Wait 5 minutes, wipe it off. Give the bottle to your spouse or mother to remove labels.
+pssst3 it is 100% tar. I use AMMO Mud on my tires as dressing which is pretty high end and does not produce sling. Sling also comes off with regular soap and water. Goo gone did not work
Yes it does work. You just need to let it activate. You probably have a layer of carbon or other film covering the actual asphalt. Wash the area throughly with warm soap and dish detergent then use the wd40
I found awesome removed roofing tar with no fuss just wet cloth with it wiped it right off my vinal siding which has been on it for years awesome cost a dollar at dollar tree also sells at dollar general great product for cleaning almost anything
@@Gjeebs I hereby row back on my earlier ridicule. It does work, you just have to leave it for a while to eat into the tar and it requires a few goes at it, depending on how thick the tar is. There are other products out there which are probably marketed as specifically for this, but I doubt they're as cheap and cheerful as bog-standard WD-40.
can anyone tell me what is inside that WD 40 ..... im sure that your cars clear cote does not like that shit on it...whats what i thing ..like its for rusty bolts and shit like that right ? i just think it will fuck up clear cote ...thats what i think can same one tell me if im right or wrong ?
Anyone else think adding a lubricant to your tires is a terrible idea? Use dish soap or gasoline. Or in my case, fresh tar on motorcycle tires, ride for about 30 minutes and the tar will just melt off. Use a little dish soap after an voila.
